I bought this 1970's runabout boat with some TRASHED blue carpet in there and just a horrible black stained floor under THAT due to 50 years of adhesive. I needed something. This did the trick but I will tell you the one thing that bugs me. the edges of the width of the material are not cut on the black seam, they are cut down the middle of the "panel" or one would assume it's the middle. When we installed we cut it across of course, but we had to adjust the width too, and we put those two edges of the two different sections together--I hope this makes sense-, and that pane is WIDER than the rest. If the rest of those black stripes are 3 inches apart, then these are about 3 and a half. and of course it's in the center of the boat so to me it's REALLY noticeable. Oh well, it's still a darn sight better than the old carpet or the floor. Trying to figure out how the get the backing off and laying it down was a mind puzzle. It was not that simple. It took two of us in a really tiny boat trying to get it right and for the most part we did.. I bought two rolls at the same time and wouldn't you know, they're still a shade or so off from each other. On the plus side, it's been in the boat for about two months now. Raccoons friggin TRASHED that boat and I was bummed yet--with water and JUST water along with a clean towel/rag it actually cleaned up pretty well! It also took a real soaking from two days of rain (i can't find a cover for this little boat) and the adhesive is STILL holding so I am pretty impressed with that. If this lasts a year I will be happy, and if it cleans up well I will be thrilled. I spent about 150 bucks and I think it was a good investment. I really think it would hold up well in an interior, exterior though? Ill let you know.

I cannot say enough about this product, and I’m so glad that I took a chance. I installed this on a 17 foot older boat and was not going to pay thousands of dollars for custom foam flooring. Watched many YouTube videos and read the reviews on this. I was a little skeptical because it did not have the 3M stamp on the adhesive, but after cleaning the floor with acetone, this stuff really sticks well! You may be able to pull it off a first time if you get it wrong, and maybe a second time, but after a few minutes, the stuff really starts to bond to the floor. Time will tell about the sturdiness of the product. But I have compared it to a sample of higher end material at my local boat shop, and it feels exactly the same. I’m not really sure what the difference is other than some companies create custom fit. To me, unless you have a very expensive boat and you care about the custom look, I would buy this product in a minute. I am in it for $250 versus $2000 for a custom fit product. That’s a no brainer.

I wanted to give this product some time in the sun before leaving a review, and I am behind on leaving my reviews…but I can now give first-hand honest feedback. I DO NOT recommend this product! I honestly don’t know how this product has so many “good” reviews, unless the buyers just don’t come back to leave a follow-up review after use. I purchased this boat flooring and used it in our Zodiac “Rib” boat at the lake during the summer, all while keeping the boat inside the boathouse when not in use. I too was excited at the transformation the flooring made. But, the material began to “bleed” color and break down by summer’s end. It leaves your feet looking muddy and stains whatever it gets on. I was excited to find it at such a good price, but it is NOT UV STABLE! I spent hours making patterns and installing this flooring, but it was all wasted on this product. I, and everyone else who experienced the same accelerated product degradation, should be offered a full refund. AMAZON…PLEASE DO A BETTER JOB SCREENING AND RESEARCHING WHICH PRODUCTS YOU ALLOW TO BE SOLD THROUGH YOUR STOREFRONT! Set higher “common sense” standards! Boat flooring that isn’t UV stable?? Really??Amazon is steadily becoming the online place to buy “cheap” stuff, and that is sad. You should have more stringent requirements. Let’s all try to do better and leave honest reviews like this to protect one another. This isn’t intended to be a rant, but rather a strong caution for you so you won’t waste your money on such a misrepresented product. Thanks for reading.

I used poster board and tape to make a stencil of the boat floor. Then used that to cut it out from the foam. Not 100% perfect. But 95%. No one will notice the imperfections but me. Still need to use an xacto knife to clean up some edges. It sticks well. You can’t un-stick it to fix an error. So be careful! Will report back as it ages over this summer.

Surface was cleaned and finished with acetone. Easy to apply and adhesive stuck solid for a full season and through winter so far. Stuck to fiberglass and wood. This can get hot in the sun, and it does expand and contract. But real teak splinters, discolours, and looks like garbage much quicker, so take your pick. In fact we put this over some grayed out teak steps. We love this. It looks great, and super easy to install and clean.
