Essential for Gigging drummers
When gigging out regularly ...... these little guys are essential. Nothing worse than trying to put a wing nut on your cymbal stand in the dark, then accidentally dropping it and watching it bounce and disappear somewhere under your sea of drums, then having to retrieve it before you can start the show. These quick releases are a perfect remedy. Not to mention the time you save by not having to screw on and off wingnuts for all of your cymbals. Oh ..... did I mention that they actually work great? ..... yea, they do!

What's all the fuss about ?
Before ordering these I read most reviews good and bad. After deciding to use Cympads instead of standard felts, regular wing nuts kept loosening, I even tried a heavier wing nut from Gibralter but the same thing happened so decided to give these a try. They solved my problem immediately! From my ride to crashes and splashes, I've not had even one break or just "pop off" If you apply them correctly they will stay on throughout a session (at least for me they do). I'm not a heavy handed banger or use baseball bats for sticks but respect those who do... Defiantly recommend these.

So far, so good.
So far these have been awesome on my Tama stands. Fit snug and haven't budged. I have them on a 22" ride, 2 crashes (16" and 18") and a 16" china cymbal. I've played our band's almost 2 hour setlist at our last practice and never even thought about them, just played our classic rock tunes, including the cymbals-heavy intro on Steve Miller's "Keep on Rockin'". We have a gig next week, so I can update after that, but so far, these are tight, solid, and worth the money. UPDATE: I've used these at one live gig and multiple band practices. I also had another solid drummer hop on the set at our last practice for a few songs. He hits harder than I do. These cymbal nuts didn't move. The only time they've moved is when I have taken them off to move my equipment to a gig. They also helped set up go a little quicker than wing nuts, etc. Video shows approximately how hard I hit and you may see I have the nuts to different depths on each post.

These Things Couldn't Hold a Paper Plate!
Absolutely worthless. These were delivered 6/6/26...and fell apart 6/6/26. They couldn't even make it through a single 3-hour show. I was using them on small splash cymbals (8" and 10"), not heavy crashes or rides, and they repeatedly worked themselves loose and flew completely off the stands. The first time it happened, I figured maybe I hadn't tightened them enough. I picked them up off the drum riser, reinstalled them, and kept playing. Two songs later, they were back on the floor again. This happened multiple times throughout the night. For the record, I'm not a gorilla behind the kit. I don't abuse my equipment, and I don't play with excessive force. If a cymbal nut can't hold a small splash cymbal in place during a normal live performance, then it simply isn't fit for purpose. To be fair, they do release quickly. Extremely quickly. In fact, they release themselves. The plastic feels cheap, the locking mechanism is ineffective, and the overall quality is far below what any working drummer should expect. These might be okay for a display kit sitting in a bedroom, but I would never trust them on a gig again. Save your money and buy a quality cymbal nut from a reputable drum hardware manufacturer. These failed when it mattered most.

Priced well. Heavy hands need Tama Quick Set
Priced well. If you play aggressively these wonโt work.

Keep looking
Very low quality, threads are barely existent, they will pop off frequently and Iโm not even an intense player

Makes setup and tear down faster. Looks great with my Blue Cympads.
I use these with Blue Cympads. They BOTH look great and they make set up and tear down faster. Another thing about about using wing nuts. They can sometimes "tighten down" on the felt or Cympad as you play. That will further dampen your cymbal sounds. This spring loaded lock will NOT do that so that your cymbal is secure and FREE to vibrate and resonate throughout.

Failed to grip
Updated rating. Seller contacted me and provided me partial refund and allowed me to keep them. That was pretty cool of them but not sure how to use these on any of my kits. Look great look and functional BUT! Every time I hit the cymbal even somewhat hard the lock nut moves up. They won't survive a live gig. It won't grip the threaded stud. I am using them on a set of Roland arms but have not tried them on my Tama hardware. Really was hoping they would work. I am also using them on a set of low volume cymbals which weigh much less than standard cymbals. Not sure if that would be would be worse or better. In my mind more mass on the cymbal would put more force on the lock nut. I could probably spend a ton of time and more money trying to figure out how to reduce the force on the lock nut but I bought them for speed setup and break down but that isn't going to work. I have already spent a couple of hours pondering the problem and attempting to fix but no luck so far. Time to move on.

These are too tight for 8mm threads.
These would be fine for cymbal stands with the smaller 6-7mm threads, but will not fit stands with 8mm threads.

Cheap and breaks easily
Doesn't stay on very well

They work as well as the expensive ones
Anything to get rid of wingnuts. The Aquarian cymbal springs were a great option but you can't get them anymore, and they clamp to the threads which isn't ideal. But this style is simple, secure, and so easy to pop on and off. The only problem was price. I picked up a bag of these and they work on all my stands including on top of an Aquarian spring where the top was lost. And if one of these gets lost or smashed, hey they're cheap. I just bought a second bag, they work.

Ok but others are better
These are a great option for drummers who wear cymbal clamps out quickly just because they're cheap but they aren't as good (don't hold as strongly) as name brand options.

Good for quick setups and teardowns
Works well, although need to grip somewhat hard to put on/take off. Stays put and doesn't seem to come flying off... although I am not the hardest hitter. Decent build quality, and good value for the price overall.
