Vectra 3D Flea and Tick Prevention for Large Dogs 56–95 lbs, 6‑Month

Vectra is easy to apply. My vet suggests doing it in the evening just before your pet settles down for the night, so it can get absorbed into their system before they roll and rub it off somewhere. Ever since using this product, I have not found any ticks on my pup. (I used to find them periodically. ) And since it also repels mosquitos - it’s another deterrent to help avoid heartworm. Been using for 4-5 years during tick season. Better than the collars, because it is absorbed on the pet and adults and children are not touching it after. Also doesn’t break or otherwise fall off. I’ve never experienced a flea problem with my pets, so I can’t speak to Vectra’s efficacy in comparison. Then again, my dog has never had any fleas since starting Vectra either.

I was struggling with finding a tick preventative that actually worked where I live. Despite using monthly over the counter topicals my dog was still getting ticks and they weren’t dying after biting him. I heard people recommend Vectra 3D and I’ve been using it for a year now on him and he has not picked up a single tick since I made the switch! My dog has very thick fur so it can be really hard to find little ticks on him so this has been a lifesaver with how well it works. The precise applicator is pretty nice as well, the medication stays in place without much wicking up his fur so he doesn’t get very greasy from it. I always give him a bath right after 24 hours because he does seem a bit itchy from it, but his skin has never been red/flakey/bumpy/etc, I think he just doesn’t like the feel of something on his back. Overall I’d say it’s worth the price, especially if you buy it in bulk for the year when it’s on sale.

This product works well, have been using it for years. I purchased 6months set for large dogs in January 2025 for 79.98. NOW AMAZON IS TRYING TO CHARGE $108!! Won’t be buying it again. I found the same product on another reputable site for $76. SHAME ON AMAZON.

Seresto doesn't seem to be working as well as it has in the past. Tried this as a replacement. Dog was chewing her butt area incessantly, as well as other areas. Thought it was too early for fleas, but thought I’d give this a try. No exaggeration, since applying she has not bitten or scratched herself ONCE!!! Relief was immediate. A miracle. This is my new go treatment. Very pleased.

I will not be buying this again. I normally use a different brand for my dog who is a German Shepherd/Husky mix and because we live in the south it’s very humid. There’s a lot of mosquitoes fleas tics, etc I bought this one since my other one is not available on Amazon and I needed it next day. This brand left residue on my dogs coat caused him to be more itchy and his skin to be more sensitive than the other brand and I don’t think it did a really good job at blocking mosquitoes and what not. It did good for fleas, but nothing else really and for the problems it caused me and my dog who I had to give a bath two days after applying the medicine too, definitely not worth it. For the money you’re spending it does not have the value that I think it should. It does not last as long. The only thing I like about this is the applicator.

This is the only product I have purchased for all my dog's for the last 20 years! Works great. No side effects. I live near woods where deers are everywhere and also lots of neighbors have dogs and I only use from April-Nov when in Cleveland, OH the fleas and ticks are bad.
