Used a lot and still cuts like new!
This tool is amazing! I'm 69 and this really is a game changer. We have 5 acres and like to have it partially wooded, so when things get too thick, I like to go in there and take out small trees and shrubs with this pruner and cut things back. I wouldn't be able to do too much with hand pruners because my hands aren't very strong. This is very sharp and cuts through branches like butter. Very easy to use and I like the battery life. As you can tell from my video it is well used!

More power than the Worx, but not as maneuverable
I have been using the Worx power pruner for some time but, despite all it's positives, it doesn't have the power to get through more than one inch branches. This Craftsman can power through those branches with ease. While it's rated to be able to handle up to 1.25 inch branches, I've gotten through larger ones without a problem. Both the jaw clamping strength and the blade heft are both excellent. The downside to this extra power is extra weight. This is a fairly heavy trimmer compared with the Worx (or similar ones). The upright style is also less maneuverable than the inline design of the Worx. But, when you need to get through larger or tougher branches, this gets the job done. The overall build quality feels very good. The battery latches in with a nice solid click. Battery life has been excellent -- I can use it for a full afternoon of pruning and it only drops from 3 bars to 2 of battery life. My only quibble about the performance is that you can't lock the jaws shut when you power it off. I prefer to store clippers, be they powered or manual, with the jaws closed. On this one I can't. While there are some tradeoffs to the increased power, this has been performing very well for me. Five stars.

Cuts like a monster!!!
I got this today and wanted to try it out. I have been struggling with a forest behind and beside my lot. For 3 years I’ve been slowly cutting away, but the brush and trees were winning. I hired a guy to chain saw a large portion of the bigger tree branches and he did a great job, but I knew that I would have another problem next year. I got this pruner hoping it would cut back the smaller branches and brush. I was able to cut out a lot of growth in a very short time. I was cutting for about an hour and did more than I normally get done in a whole summer. I love the pruner!!! But, note that it is powerful and could cut off fingers in a snap. Do not use it if you start to get tired because you don’t want to get careless. It did get a little heavier as time went on. But, I’m nearly 70 and not as strong as I was a few years ago. lol. Anyway, this tool does a great job. I wish I had purchased this sooner.

Great tool for cutting thick branches
A friend of mine had a similar tool but by Dewalt and I was looking for one but I am in the Craftsman ecosystem. It was great to find out that Craftsman had a similar tool and I purchased this for the purpose of trimming branches and such around the yard. This is a great product and cuts everything. If it is a little thicker, I have to cut the branch multiple times, but that is not a problem. This is a bit heavy with the battery, but when you aren't doing the work, it doesn't cause any fatigue. Only weird thing is the trigger, you have to hold the one trigger and keep it down and then press the other trigger to actuate the clippers. I guess its a safety feature as I would think there is no stopping it once it goes...And I am sure you can lose a finger if you are not careful. Anyway, pricewise, it is great when on sale, but I think it is worth the money as it is easier than trying to force a pair of loppers on a thick branch.

Another Great Craftsman V20 Tool
This is my 16th Craftsman V20 tool and just like the previous 15, it works great. Trimmed my oak trees and the wife went crazy using the pruner to cut all up to smaller pieces to use in the base of her new above ground vegetable beds. Only negatives are I had to buy one with battery and charger, the small battery isn't worth the money and I have a bank charger, so a new single charger is useless to me.

Amazing tool for trimming vines, fencerows, small trees, shrubs, etc.
I own a lot of the Craftsman battery powered tools, so it was natural that I bought one of these when I first heard about them. I use them particularly for trimming grape and muscadine vines back each year in late winter. But I also use them for cleaning up fencerows, when a chainsaw would be a bit too much and a trimmer mower not quite enough. I use them all the time to cut limbs up to about an inch in diameter. I am stunned how much usage I get, even off the lowest amp-hour batteries. In fact, I carry one of these around in my ATV full-time, for use when I see something that needs trimming or clipping. While it was not my intent, I have cut wire fence many times with these, although I'd recommend trying to avoid that. I will also tell you to KEEP YOUR FINGERS AWAY from where you are clipping. It would be SO EASY to cut off a finger with these powerful blades! When working with two hands, I always think before I pull the trigger. I liked my first one so much that I bought a second. A couple of things need mentioning. If you go a few seconds without pulling the trigger, you'll need to release the safety and then re-engage it before pulling the trigger again. This takes some getting used to. Also, there are times when it just seems to stop working, even with charge left on the battery. A few seconds to cool off and a new battery have it back operating like new. Again, be safe!
