Product is performed well in the first 6 months, as per expectations. The wifi signals were strong in the house. This is much better than all prior routers I had got from SingTel. However, since then multiple problems have started. Initially, stopped receiving signals from the bedroom furthest from the primary device, despite one of the Orbi wireless routers in the room. Subsequently, the internet access started randomly stopping in the entire house. Followed all the instructions as provided in the Netgear website, including getting the telco (SingTel) to re-set and even provide a new set-top box to receive the primary signal, but to no avail. The frustrating part is that the Netgear Singapore office/store has declined any support, as the product was not purchased directly from them.

I'll start by saying a little bit about my situation--I live with my parents, and we live in a house of about 2200 square foot house with a shed that's about thirty feet or less from the house. We were looking for a Mesh Wi-Fi system that would cover our entire house as well as reach out to that shed (my Dad uses that for his workshop and has a TV etc.). We have one option for internet, and one noncable or satellite option for TV, so after searching and trying multiple systems. I ended up with Netgear. This system has by far been the best for our needs. It says connected, is fast, was easy to set up (I'm tech savvy--someone who would be able to set it up within a reasonable amount of time if you follow directions). My personal recommendation is if you have trouble with the Orbi app go online and use the website--for whatever reason, the app WOULD NOT work for me. This system has reconnected automatically or with little issues after a power outage. I also love the Netgear/Orbi website that allows me to customize settings (both security, name my network etc.). As far as the system looks that really is a personal preference. I don't think they're bad. I really can't recommend this system or even Netgear/Orbi enough.

Needed to extend my wifi range and increase the number of connections. I've been a long time user of netgear products and selected these Orbis because of the longtime reliability I've had with netgear products. Out of the box, this system was easy to set up and worked flawlessly for 93 days. On day 94 my wifi stopped working. Tried resetting the system several times including rerunning the complete setup and handful of times but was never able to restore the wifi. Called customer support and was told I would have to pay for a service subscription as my support warranty was only good for the first 90 days... I hung up and will limp along on an old router while I shop for a replacement that is not made by Netgear.

It easily connected to my already existing system. Perfect.

As someone who has been playing and working with computers and technology in various ways for over 20 years. I'd highly recommend the Orbi router and satellite system for anyone looking to expand their wifi network. I was a bit confused during installation. But, that's what Google is for XD. After installing once I'm confident that maintenance of my home network will be much easier with the new Orbi setup and in place. The app makes it extremely easy to view devices connected to the network. not only that it quickly shows which router or satellite each device is currently connected to. The Bitdefender security runs quietly in the background. I take the security of our network seriously, and have been using Bitdefender products on our devices for years now. With it running on the Orbi network, it automatically runs hardware scans, keeps me updated on any vulnerability, makes it easy to install security applications on devices on the network, and more. It's not even been a week since installing the new network hardware. This product along with a new Nighthawk modem. But, I can already see that these new Netgear products are going to make my life a whole lot easier. I don't think I'll have to constantly reboot our network or worry about security threats any more. Netgear will always be my go to for networking needs.

Installing a new wireless router means that all the wi-fi devices connected to the old network need to be updated with the new network and new password. No problem, we know how to do that. Everything works, the new network has a lot better coverage than the old WAP except for... I have a combination printer scanner that worked perfectly on the old wireless network and now the printer works with Netgear, but the scanner is not recognized. I called Customer Support and after an hour on the phone that said, it's not our problem! Contact the printer manufacturer. I pushed back and said the only change is the network, so it must be your problem. Still didn't get an answer and so I had to find a long printer to USB cable to make it work. Not what I wanted, but that was all I could manage. No help from Customer Support.

These have a nice look and offer great coverage. Setup was easy though I choose to use the manual setup so I could get everything configured at once including the ssid and passwords. The firmware updates were a breeze during the setup process but the manual states to update in a certain order and not all at once which is opposite from the initial setup process. The biggest complaint I have is attempting to connect 2.4Ghz cameras and accessories. You will find many solutions to this issue but none of them worked for my 2.4 devices. The older NetGear routers allowed you to setup 2 SSID's one for 2.4Ghz and a second for the 5Ghz network while this one integrates them together. I have worked in the IT field for over 20 years and I struggled to get the 2.4 devices connected. I know others have had success but maybe it came down to the manufacturer? I ended up putting my original NetGear router into AP mode using only 2.4Ghz in order to get my cameras back online. Overall these are a great addition to any network and the coverage is fantastic!

Speeds are good for a router when using it for streaming TV and surfing the internet but when trying to game, connection falters heavily. Did the best I can to improve speeds and connection by changing settings on my modem and router itself to no success. Really wanted to like this but not capable of handling what I needed it to. Don’t expect it be great for everything, just good enough for MOST things.
