I have 2 questions.1st, is this actually stainless steel for dishwasher cleaning? 2nd, is the 6oz scoop good for 16 oz cups?

Yes the scoop is stainless steel. Should be able to put in dishwasher. The scoop is great for 16 oz cups. Might have to put at least two scoops to almost fill cup.

Can it be left inside the freezer?

I leave mine in the freezer. Love it. Plastic one that came with my ice machine broke. This one is perfect.
