Perfect untill, I run out. The snakes do not come near when this is around.

I know alot of people say these don't work. What I do know is that since I have been putting them out around my house and pool I have not seen a single snake. I put them in my flower beds and along the patio edges. We always got snakes in the pool skimmer until this year when I bought these. My husband hates the smell but I don't even notice it once I have set them out and washed my hands. I do wish they lasted a little longer though.

I have a pool in my very large fenced in back yard and I kept getting red belly water snakes in the pool skimmer and around the shed in the back of the yard in South Carolina. Grant you they are no bigger then about 6-8 inches however a snake is a snake to me. I also have 2 dogs that I worry about getting bitten. I was looking for something that would last, was pet safe, and that I didn't have to actually put on the ground that would be in the way of cutting and weed whacking the yard. My husband and I decided to try these since they came with their own little bags and you were able to hang them. I hung them 8 inch from the ground and about 4 1/2 feet apart on the fence all the way around my back yard and I must say that I haven't seen a snake in MY yard since doing so. We did see a 4 foot black snake in my neighbors yard and she make the comment "This is the first snake I have seen since we moved here" so I am thinking these things really do work. However I am dissatisfied with 2 things:1- how long they actually lasted. According to the description they were supposed to last about 2-3 months and were rain proof and sun proof. Mine have only lasted a little over a month.2-amount of little bags. I purchased the 24 pk of snake balls and was supposed to receive 24 bags to match the amount of balls. Due to the size of my yard I had to order 4 boxes (which I actually should have gotten 5). Each box that I received was short 5 bags. So I had to get creative and got pantyhose and little zip ties to make bags.Now I am not going to say that I wouldn't repurchase these as they seem to be working, I just wish they actually did last longer as our snake season here is from April-October for the amount of money is cost to cover my yard.

and we are wanting to deter assorted reptiles, right? I cannot speak to the effectiveness for snakes, but I have no reason to believe these would not annoy them mightily. Our problem is an abundance of chameleons (lizards) that love to inhabit a southern exposure brick wall, sheltering behind window shutters in cold weather... on sunny days the chameleons like to slip under the bottom of the storm door and bask in the warmth between the doors. When we go out we frequently encounter one, or more, and often enough to be aggravating the lizards will run into the house instead of going back out into their natural habitat. A few of these placed beside the door outside, one between the doors, and one in each window ledge between screens and glass solves the problem. Cats love to snack on chameleons, but we are in a cat decline in the neighborhood so there is no population control for now. A local tomcat used to come by regularly and sit awaiting snack time... he could leap six to seven feet up to snatch them off the warm brick wall. Cheap entertainment.

Keeps the bad snakes away so far, but literally saw a rat snake cuddling one of these scent balls like a prized stuffed animal. Snake was also sitting on top of the granular snake away so might of just been a crack head snake but still.

Good product. Certainly helps.

They do not work i had a black king snake in my bed last night! Worthless product! I have 8 balls in my camper!

I’ve noticed the lizards aren’t hanging around our doorstep.
