Maybe Bougie's tired of reviewing/talking about porn/exploitation or maybe I've changed but the subject matter doesn't feel all that fresh anymore. Long reviews, think piece's and interviews with little mini-reviews and comics here and there. Just seems a little stale.

As with the other books in this series, the pics are a mix of cartoon, photos and ad art. As with the zine version, the emphasis is on XXX flicks but other genres are covered. To give you an idea, this starts with an article on 1970s XXX flicks with occult content such as Madam Satan (1970) and Night of the Occultist (1973). Some other highlights of this volume : Sadie (1980), Light Blast (1985), The Bad Bunch (1973), Mini-Skirt Love (1967), The Mad Bomber (1973), Jackson County Jail (1976), Basket Case (1982), Highway to Hell (1991), Warbus (1985), Nina Hartley, Escape 2000 (1982), Milla Monroe, Born Innocent (1974), Sweet Movie (1974), Yvonne Welden, Tiana Cambridge, Lost on Adventure Island (1984), Lili Marlene, Ginger Lynn, Leoni Valentine, Ajita Wilson, Max Pecas, and Neon Maniacs (1985) and much, much more. The above should give you an idea, some of the titles of select XXX and softcore flicks I am not sure that I am allowed to repeat on this platform. If you are a fan of esoteric cinema and/or XXX movies, this book is worth getting.

These books are such an interesting read. Even if you aren't into the bizarre sub-culture that it covers, the stories and insight is captivating. A really great read.

Robin Bougie has a curious and endearing way of professing his love for both his wife as well as for way-out, beyond-the-pale adult sex and horror flicks in his work, and vol six of his collected Cinema Sewer magazine demonstrates this only too well. Bougie has a knack for tackling even the most jaded and depraved of subjects with intelligence and style, and I was really happy to add this book to the previous five sitting on my shelf. I loved it, man - it's an essential treat for in-the-know fans of genre cinema and VERY broadminded newcomers alike.

Does what it says …………...runs a sieve through the detritus of the film world and in amongst the poo is the occasional dropped gold ring.
