Very easy to install.
I am not a computer person, at all. This was my first attempt to fix my daughter’s Mac book air charging ports. This piece was the easiest thing to change out. It snaps into place so there is NO soldering needed. Absolutely perfect. It saved her MacBook from the trash.

Worked perfectly for my 2020 Macbook Air M1
Spilled a tiny bit of water on my desk and somehow a drop got onto the charging cable, frying one of the USB-C ports and making the other one only work about 50% of the time. Apple diagnostics came back with a PPP001 error message, telling me the power port was bad. After some Googling, I saw that the USB-C board is fairly easy to replace (iFixit has great instructions). This USB-C board and a tool kit cost $12 each, so I figured it was worth a shot.15 minute process to crack open my Macbook Air, take out the old USB-C board and replace it with this one, and put everything back together. Both USB-C ports work fine now and according to Coconut Battery are charging the laptop at normal rates. Can't speak to the longevity of this USB-C board, but it's not really a wear item so if it works now it'll probably work for as long as the rest of this laptop does. If it burns out randomly or fails somehow, I'll update this review accordingly.

USB-C Connector Damaged
One of the beauty of the old Mac design was the magnetic power connection. I use the computer a lot for presentations and often kick the cord which gives the connector a lot of stress. When the new USB-C design came out, this is exactly what I was afraid of.If you have average level of "handyman " skills, this is a straight forward fix. The only thing is to have ready a set of micro tools to open and remove some screws. For sure, you need a P5 screw driver and some torx drivers (maybe) and definitely a micro phillips driver (eye glass size)Once replaced, it worked like new the first time.
