I’m impressed
I’m not easily impressed, but I am really impressed with the sound quality of this amplifier. I have it hooked up to two 12” full range and two 5” speakers. It will fill a large room with plenty of volume. Very little distortion at full volume. This is not the type of amplifier that you need if you’re looking for a lot of thump, but it will push your midrange and tweeters. Bass and treble adjustments do have a good range. It does have a separate output for a bass sub, but not anything to brag about. Might come in handy if you had a powered sub to hook up to it. Would also work well with a 12 volt cigarette adapter.

Surprising Little Wonder
For the price? man, you can't ask for more, this little one does the job, assuming you have the needed speakers and tweetersFor me, It powered the 10-inch SUB very well, the quality and the features are surprisingly good, and very nice sound. You CAN'T expect it to drive a 500 watts SUB or so, this is not a powerhouse amp, it is just good for the home-based SUB

Works well
These are great little amps. I put rubber feet on it and plugged an audio source directly into it. My favorite part of these is that they have actual power switches so when the power goes out, they are still on when the power comes back. I definitely hate software controlled power switches. I also like they don't have colored unnecessary lights like many competitors have. This one also came with a power supply and many others do not.

Great Sound Quality
This small amplifier sounds great. I've only had this amp about a week and so far so good. I'm running out of my iMac into the 1/8 AUX input jack on the front of this amp and using heavy gauge speaker cable into a pair of speakers, each w/ a 6.5 inch midrange and 3 inch tweeter, housed in 45 year old heavy, solid wood cabinets. The bass and treble controls on this ST-838 are really quite responsive, although I am also using the EQ in my iTunes player to dial things in a little more, especially when listening to music. I have a background as a sound engineer and musician and I am fairly hard to please and so far I'm pretty happy, particularly considering the price. And now ~ the test of time. Stay tuned.Update: Well, it's been a year and a half and this little amplifier is still rock solid and I use it every day for at least several hours and sometimes longer. I can't recommend this little guy enough. If you're on a budget and need a good amp, this just might be the ticket.

Stopped working after 30 minutes
It worked very well for approximately 30 minutes. Music started scratching sound and distorting then completely quit within a couple minutes. I bought this 5 months ago. Now too late to return to Amazon of course. I have looked all over this listing for the way request warranty but not finding that either.

Bass is great blows out all other audio with a crackle
Distorted sound would probably be like 10 watt speakers to use the bass is too much on the speakers and blows out the sound the bass on the sub is decent . I will attempt to put in a low level filter but the hope is slim I hooked it up to a mix board n taking all the bass away does help but the sound is just hollow the price is right if you can find the right watage speakers very low watage (I'm using 25watt now ) it may be a good quick solution the bass is great but blows out other audio.

It’s hard to find a cheap non-Bluetooth amp.
I use this to run in wall 6.5” left and right speakers and 10” sub all from Dayton Audio. I wanted an amp that is not Bluetooth so I don’t have to worry about switching it to aux every time I want to use it. I also wanted one that had mounting holes so I could screw it to the wall behind my TV. This one sounds clean. I wish it had more power, but it is plenty loud for the room it is in. The sub and treble adjustments seem to work better than a lot of the cheap Chinese 2.1 amps I have used. I feel like it was kind of pricey for what it was so I docked it a star. But I needed it quick so didn’t want to wait for something ordered directly from china.
