This is a great product !
This is a practical product! Every sink cabinet, water heater tray, and dishwasher needs one. The gold plated figures on the sensor PCB are a nice touch to prevent corrosion. If you need to place the sensor on a metallic surface, you can wrap it with a thin layer of toilet paper (genius?) to prevent shorting the gold fingers, yet allow water to trigger the alarm.I measured the current in stand-by mode and calculate the expected battery life. In standby mode, this detector draws less than 0.05 micro amps. Impressive! So a typical 9V battery with 500 mAh capacity should last a few hundred years. I'll update my review in 100 years :-) The current jumps to as high as 100 mA when the sound is activated. You probably want to measure and /or replace the battery if the sound has been activated for a while.

LOUD! 9v battery powered, long cord, works great!
I got this for a friend who had a water inlet valve problem on her washer. If we had this little $5 unit in place, there would've been less flooding on her laundry room floor. I like that this comes with everything you need except a 9v battery. It has double stick tape for the control unit and the sensor. You get a pack of 3 for around $15. Cheap insurance! I tested it by putting the sensor under the kitchen faucet. Wow! It's Loud! A nice feature is that it has an on/off switch. Not sure why you'd need it because you'll always want it 'on', but that's handy. I guess if it's going off, you don't want it screaming at you while you mop up the water. This is good for any type of water / liquid overflow. It could be the laundry room, under sink pipes, whatever you can imagine. The cord to the sensor seems long enough. You could always splice more cord into it to make it longer and I'll bet it will work just fine. I was glad to find these in a 3 pack even though I only needed 1. I'm sure you'll come up with other places where a water / liquid sensor could be useful.

A little water sets the alarm off instantly.
A few drops of water makes the alarm create a loud notification.

They are very loud is all I’ll say. Word great under testing.
Haven’t had one go off except when tested. I believe if they go off you could wake your neighbors.
