Amazing little trap
So I am a snake enthusiast, and I also have cats. Unfortunately one of my cats sat on top of a cage, and my little milk snake got out. I have been trying to catch the little guy for about two months now. I picked this up thinking I could capture him and get him back in his home.I know he was under my sink, so I put the cage in there with a tasty little morsel. It was less than 24 hours and I was able to catch him. I looked to check the trap today, and saw the food was gone. I was trying to figure out how he got back out, but nope his slithery little butt was still in the cage.I was able to get him into one of my racks (As opposed to his cage), and he is all settled back in after his adventures in the great outdoors. This is a great trap to help catch snakes, though I cannot comment on how it works for minnows.

Lets go Fishin
I purchased this item for my dad for fathers day and it seemed to have great reviews as far as being a great bait catcher. It is sturdy construction and the metal has a plastic coating on it.I was a little worried about durability in the water for a long time due to some of the other minnow traps I seen online but this one seems like it can handle the challenge. It also has a door that slides on the side for easy access.I want to brag on the company that makes this item Plano manufacturing i had to call to get a new spring for the door because dummy me stretched it out as soon as i got it my fault not the products and they responded very quickly to my emails and sent me out a new spring at no cost to me sent via ups.So overall great customer service!! which today is hard to come by.I would defiantly purchase any of this company's products again. ( NOTE PICTURE WITH THE SPRING ON THE DOOR IS OLD SPRING NEW SPRING IS MUCH TIGHTER AS IT SHOULD BE)

Nice design, worth the money.
This is a really nice minnow trap. I was a little worried about spending so much as compaired to other traps but it is a good design and I'm glad I bought this one. I'm using it in tidal creeks to catch mud minnows. I bait it up with a couple dead finger mullet sliced up a bit or a balled up piece of bread. Both seem to work. I point the funnel end down stream ( at low or falling tide ) and leave it for an hour or two. I cant believe how many minnows get in this trap. I cull out the small ones and have more than I need for the rest of the day. The side door is nice to use and provides a nice big opening for getting your bait out. It is much more conveniant dumping the minnows into the hatch on my minnow bucket than the funnel types I have had in the past. No more stuck minnows in the narrow crease at the cone end. I will be buying another one of these when the time comes.

Caught a Copperhead snake
This trap is pretty sturdy. Feels like quality and should last for years. .I got it primarily to try and trap snakes around my back porch. I was pretty shocked when I looked back to see a copperhead snake must have crawled into the trap while I had been standing within a few feet away working in the flower bed.The side spring door to open the trap is pretty strong. No way that snake was going to get released alive without biting me. So had to kill it while it was inside. The mesh is pretty small. The entry hole is big enough, that I think a small snake could figure out how to exit with some time.I would buy this again.

BEST MINNOW TRAP OUT THERE
THIS IS THE ONE!!! I live on a tidal river and have used casting nets, crab pots, etc etc. for years. I was tired of having my fishing dependent on how my casting net did as I do best with live bait. Obviously the openings in the crab pot allowed many critters to escape so it was awesome to see what I had living under my pier using this trap. Crayfish/crawdads, mini crabs, minnows, bluegull, alwifes/LY's, you name it! Stay away from those goofy traps that separate in 2 pieces. This one has a sliding door that makes baiting and removing bait easy!Pro-Tip: Use slices of cheese to catch bluegill/sunfish-they love it!ONE WARNING: The sliding door has a spring that has a "s" clip on the end that sometimes gets caught on the cage. Just take your time, bend it some, or turn it a bit.Very solid construction! Just load it up with your dinner scraps

BUY IT (replace the spring)
ok the cage itself is great. the spring on the other hand sucks you got to unhook it to open the door. and the spring if pulled to hard will not recoil which shows the spring is cheap. real good fix is go to walmart buy 1/4 braided elastic and use a fishing swivel do one full loop, tie it and hook the swivel onto the handle. TRUST ME you will love the cage SO MUCH MORE. but overall its a VERY VERY GOOD CAGE WELL WORTH THE PRICE if you can deal with the spring or fix it. i did a fancy paracord wrap to make a carry handle between the eyes and a lead off to retrieve it.

Trap is Holding Up Well...
I've had it outside for months in several hours per day of direct sunlight, and the thing seems to be unphased (I will update should the coating fall apart anytime soon). The door closes securely, and, from what I can tell, what gets in does not get out. I like the value and the design.
