xl with a d pouch. look at the size chart, xl is 39 to 41 waist.

The product has a description of the material as you look through it. But I can tell you it stretches to fit. The pocket is very comfortable to start. Very comfortable!!!

does this work with leggings?

Yes, the leggings version of these works pretty well, good space up front and the leggings help with a chafing issue that I have. I would recommend going the next size up however. In my case the behind area is a bit tight on these , other than that, I am pleased with them.
