How big is the board itself? I have a chess set with larger size pieces and I want to make sure they are going to fit well.

If the board is less than 16 inches how could the eight squares be 2 by 2 inches ???? My boards have 2 inch squares or 2 1/4 inch plus a boarder

Strange question....but I have a stool that the seat height is 19.5in. Would this work with this table?

It will definitely work but you may be sitting a little low. You can use a regular chair. It is tall enough. The table is 27.6" tall but about 2-3 inches is the thickness of the table top because it has drawers. So I guess 24-25 in. clearance estimated. hope this helps

The description says "cherry finish" but the piece is not wood, correct?

I'm no carpenter, but it is wood. Probably not solid hardwood, but rather a veneer. However, I really like this piece. It is sturdy, looks great, and is inexpensive. Overall, a great value.

Very sturdy and nice looking

Low quality, bad color matching to pictures

The top is darker than it looks in the pictures... the white squares are more like yellow. It doesn't look classy or old fashioned, it looks stained, like that yellowing you see on the walls in the house of someone who has smoked cigarettes for decades.Chips in the finish on the pedestal and even one on the top.Missing some hardware.No instructions. Fortunately it's obvious enough. But maybe if they had taken the time to write some, they would have noticed that...The predrilled holes were in the wrong places... the table is offset from the base by 45 degrees.Buy something else.
