Can this frame be used with a 40" wide saucer swing?

You would not be able to swing the disk very wide. I’ve had one of these and kids like to swing in big circles. Otherwise I love this frame for my swing.

Why does it give you an option of choosing a size of four or five feet? The production dimensions state it’s seven feet wide…

Because of the size of the actual swing that you own.

Can you attach a baby swing to this frame?

I don't see why not. This is a very heavy duty frame that I currently have a heavy steel 3 person porch swing on. It has had well over 600 lbs on it and is solid as can be.
