Works perfect

This is a great kit to add a real fuel gauge to your fuel tank. For me it was a huge upgrade for my lawn tractor which only had a rather worthless "sight window" which is just about impossible to use unless you had bright light on the back of the fuel tank and the fuel was within the visible window. The sender unit appears to be solid and of good quality with a sturdy mounting flange, I ordered the 4 inch version in a kit with the gauge which was the best option for my application. The gauge meter unit itself has bold graphics for easy no nonsense readability, the multi color backlight options are a great way to customize to suit your application and do a great job at night. I wired the backlight to the tractor headlight circuit so it comes on with the headlights - a nice touch but not necessary, you can of course wire it up to stay on all the time if you prefer. My kit did not come with the connector sealing plug as shown though. For those reviewers of this kit that complain of the gauge showing Full all the time - this fuel gauge meter is programmable for different types of senders, it might be worth making sure it is configured for the right sender. For me the default settings were correct. Overall, I very much like this kit, it is a little pricey, but if it lasts the life of my lawn tractor, it will be worth it, we'll see. Please not that I took extra care to prepare the nylon fuel tank surface to seal perfectly against the sender unit with the limited torque available from screws in nylon (I purchased special deep thread screws and did not use the machine screws provided), typically such nylon tanks are not perfectly flat nor is the surface texture conducive to a good seal even with the good quality gasket provided. This is less of an issue with metal fuel tanks. Think Safety. If in doubt, use a threaded split ring backer inside the tank. UPDATE: Nov 2025: This kit is still going strong and a valued upgrade to my tractor. I have noticed however that the Gauge Dial Glass does fog up with condensation so this is definitely NOT waterproof and would be a disaster on marine installations - so make sure you receive and use the connector seal, as my kit did not come with one and it is clearly a critical item.

It arrived quickly. It was exactly what I expected.

Haven't got to install this gauge yet. I bought this for my zero turn mower so the instructions aren't very good for wiring it up you have to basically figure everything out. As soon as I get it figured out and installed I'll re rate this item.

The device was well made and easy to install. The gauge is nice, clear, and well-lit so it easy to view at all times.

I cannot get this gauge to work. I have 15 gals in a 30-gal tank. and it reads full or empty

I bought a 1990 sea nymph ss175 fish and ski and restoring it. First thing I found was the gas gauge did not work. So I ordered the wrong one first 8.8 inch . Took the old one out and tank was only 4.5 inches deep. So, I ordered the 4 inch . To my surprise the 4 inch got here first . Installed it the first time and hooked up the wrong wires . Finally traced down the right wire and bingo, works like a charm. Got out of the boat and amazon shows up with the 8.8 inch witch I took to staples for a refund. It is only 4 inches and my tank is 4.5 inches ,but that is good leaves me alittle reserve gas .

Got a 91’ Crestliner Sportfish that I could never tell how much fuel it had. Not anymore! Wiring was easy. Took me an hour.
