The jack stand bases make even contact on uneven concrete
I have purchased the 6-ton jacks in the past, but I needed something for jobs that don't require the car to be so high, so I bought two sets of the 3-ton jacks. I am very impressed with them, considering I have to work on the car alone. I successfully used all four to jack up a 2009 Ford Mustang V6 4.0L (approximately 3,300 lbs) for an oil change and transmission fluid drain and fill. The backup locks worked great, and the car was stable; after shaking and pushing on the car to check stability, it didn't budge. Making sure the stands were on the pinch welds (the reinforced parts on the car) and properly lined up made everything work out well. The seams were welded properly; no issues there. Love the stands. As a DIYer who is smaller and has to do work on this Ford, I feel like I'm in good hands with Pro-Lift. Great product, thank you! 💯

Better than ARCAN
Based on a Project Farm review, I bought the Pro-LifT PL3300 Heavy Duty Jack Stands (3-Ton). These stands have a nice, even, sturdy base on a level surface with no wobble. The release handle has a secondary lock of thick metal that slides into a grove, preventing accidental release. The lift height is adequate for my needs lifting a 2012 Toyota Highlander for tire rotations and common maintenance tasks. For the price, I doubt you could find a better set of jack stands. Previously I bought the ARCAN TOOLS 3-Ton Steel Jack Stands (ALJS3), also based on a Project Farm review. The ARCAN set came out of the box with wobbly, uneven bases, even on a level surface. They also lack a secondary handle lock for safety. In my opinion the Pro-LifT jack stands are superior to the ARCAN product in every possible way. I absolutely would buy the Pro-LifT jack stands again. I would absolutely NOT buy the ARCAN stands again, and didn't.

Much Safer. Solves one of the biggest failure points for most jack stand designs
I bought two sets of these 3-ton jack stands to replace Harbor Freight Jack stands that were recalled due to actual failures of the ratchet system. The ratchet/pawl system is essentially the same in almost all similarly designed jack stands, and therefore this potential flaw exists in essentially all of these stands that do not incorporate some kind of secondary safety feature. This has always been a concern of mine and I have never been completely comfortable getting under my car when it's on stands as most jack stands are not exactly precision manufactured devices. The saddle/head castings being the most questionable components due to the fact they are typically cast using the most primitive sand-cast methods (not precision cast). The saddle/head portion includes the ratchet teeth, which in concert with the ratchet pawl (primary lock connected to the handle on the body of the stand) supports the weight of your vehicle. These jack stands use cast saddles/heads as well, but I noticed right away the ratchet teeth showed a smoother casting process, and/or the castings are finished with much greater care to ensure the ratchet teeth are consistent and more precise than other jack stands. More importantly, the added pin/lock ensures any sudden weight and/or load shift will not cause a potentially adhered jack stand saddle (the saddle sticking to undercoating on the support point for example) to lift the head high enough to cause a poorly cast ratchet tooth to slip past the pawl/primary lock and collapse. Another common flaw is the cheap painting process almost always results in the pawl and handle sticking in an unlocked position. Again, these stands demonstrate a much higher quality in the coating process, appearing to be powder coated instead of the saddle/ratchet and pawl portions being dipped in what typically would be some kind of enamel or heavy oil-based paint product - which inevitably leads to excess paint and sticking of the ratchet system (most dangerously the pawl/handle) The body of this jack stand is constructed essentially the same as other similar jack stands designs, which is rarely an issue related to safety. The welds are more than sufficient and are of good quality. Most importantly I actually feel comfortable and confident getting under my car when it's on stands now - for the first time in nearly 40 years of working on my own cars. I will never buy a jack stand that doesn't incorporate the safety features used in this stand design. I bought two sets of both the 3 and the 6 ton versions of this stand.

Quality Exceeded Expectations. Still mislabeled.
I know that a number of reviewers of these jack stands encountered very poor quality welds. That was not the case for me. The welds on the stands were clean, and the paint showed no real issues. I also see that there were reported issues with stability, with some of the stands being very wobbly. Again, while not 100% perfect, mine were very level. Further, once you get about 10# on them, then there is absolutely no issue whatsoever. I join a lot of reviewers in the statements about these being 3-ton jacks. THEY ARE NOT 3-TON JACKS. I feel that the weight limit prominently displayed on EACH jack stand is very misleading. If you look at the stand, the 3-ton limit is not only prominently displayed on a sticker, but embossed on the upright red arm of the stand. The instruction manual does note 3-ton per pair, but do you really think I'm going to have that piece of paper 10 years from now, when my son or grandson borrows the stands? I have no idea how the manufacturer gets away with this. This is a safety issue. Finally, while I like the safety pins that are included in each stand, I would have liked to see them either have a spring type of snap holding them in place, or made with a higher tolerance for holding them in place via friction. They fall out, the arms fall out, etc. etc. A minor annoyance, but I feel that it is easily fixable. All in all, for what I got, they are a sturdy, reliable product, and they will suit me for a very long time. But, for the reasons above, especially labeling issue, they do not deserve a 5 rating.

Very Good Jack Stands
I bought some Harbor Freight jack stands a few years ago but they started tilting after so much abuse. Turns out there was a recall for them so returned them but they didn't have any new good ones in stock and they didn't know when they would get some so they gave me a gift card instead. I still needed jack stands so decided to check out amazon. I saw these and they had good reviews so decided to buy them. They're real sturdy and so far no problems. I use them a lot when I'm working on my F-150 and so far hold up really well. I do like the pin lock feature. It's just an added protection incase the teeth on the jack ever disengage. Adjust is also really easy. Just raise up to desired length and done. Obviously the locking pin has to be out for this but once adjusted to desired length just insert locking pin and done. The pin can come out fairly easily so wish it was made tighter so it wouldn't slide out so easily. Other than that, good jack stands. Highly recommend. Time will tell if they last.

Works Well for My Needs
Not everyone knows that the 3 TON Rating is for the PAIR, not the individual stands. The quality and price were great, as in good enough for home use. I'm only judging them as I use them, not saying that they wouldn't work well in a professional environment. Thank you ,Seller.

Not As Hefty as Advertised
The description (and "Rufus" confirms) that these are 13.9 lb. EACH. They're not. That's for BOTH. This goes from making them substantially heavier (duty?) than the competition to actually slightly lighter. Still, these are so much better than my 50yo nonratching stands that I still have to concede 5 stars. Solid ratchet, double lock, welds, and finish. Love'em.

Good jack stands
I'd trust them with my life! So sturdy and safe. Great design, and the price is right. Super easy to use, can't go wrong. Small enough to keep in your car, too.

Sturdy and well made.
The Stands are pretty amazing for their price and compact size, their build quality is great and the safety pin is a deal sealer for them.
