do i have to use the Gravel included or could i use my own?

We recommend only using the ceramic media included with the biOrb aquarium. The ceramic media is specifically designed to work with the biOrb filtration system. Overtime their honeycomb structure is populated with beneficial bacteria that assists in neutralizing bacteria and nitrates from the fish. We hope this helps. Can I program two colors, like having blue light and white light on at the same time?!

can the bubble tube be moved?

We do not recommend removing the bubble tube. The bubble tube and it's base play a key role in the filtration process. The clear base on the bubble tube holds the filter sponge and carbon pieces in place in the center of the biOrb aquarium.
