Recently upgraded from the Mecool km2 and I'm glad I did Better specs Better menu etc Really feels like a shield performance is very fast and extra storage means no need for external storage Highly recommended for someone who is looking to upgrade from a firestick/Chromecast and not spending big on the Nvidia shield or fire TV cube.

It works great with the remote and runs fast and smoothly. So much better than the slow buggy experience of an Android TV! Movie Streaming apps like Netflix work great. Only pity is there's limited apps available in the Play Store compared to the usual Stock Android Boxes & Smartphones. Spotify is a Lite version with no access to the app settings which is mystifying. Some apps I tried to sideload didn't work or were incompatible like the Full Spotify version, my Sennheiser & Jabra Headphones companion apps plus a few Bass Booster EQ apps. That's the downside and important to know but the box works great with apps that are compatible and available to download so it may come down to which Android OS appeals more to you!

Audio and image quality are really good. Unfortunately, I've tested 2 different Mecool models based on Android 11, both Google certified (apparently) and there are a few systematic issues: 1) While the performance are good with the stock apps, after some time, with more installed apps, it becomes increasingly slower, with the home and the apps freezing especially at startup. 2) micro SD support is not great either. If used as external storage, it is connected after some time after the startup and while it is not connected, everything is slow to load. 3) In the settings if the option for the automatic display resolution is selected, sudden changes in resolution cause the display to blink. 4) It is very likely that if you buy o rent a movie from the Google store, it won't work (I was not able after several attempt to watch anything bought from YouTube/Google Store). I'm wondering if this has something to do with the certification.

I purchased this box after reading good reviews. However, I sent it back next day because it couldn’t connect to my internet.. my other devices were ok, so I know it was definitely the box.
