This was purchased as a second remote for the same TV. Did not need to pair it to TV for it to work, which is good because you can only pair one vendor-specific remote to a smart TV.

Amazingly, it works quite well with a new 50-inch Samsung Smart TV that was just purchased. The remote control that came with the TV was a minimalist modern design monstrosity with weird and flimsy volume control and the physical size that would be a perfect fit for a hand of a five-year-old child. The size and design of the Samsung remote immediately created consternation in the mind of an elderly person to whom the TV was purchased. This inexpensive replacement remote control saved the day and the TV purchase since it is designed with the traditional, no-nonsense, functional button arrangement and labeling that leave the user with no room for doubt as to exactly what each button does.

when they say easy to set up, they really mean that all you have to do is put the batteries in and the buttons work maybe not the highest quality but for a replacement control it is actually very very good

This remote control replaced the awful remote that came with my Samsung tv. It’s just the right size, all the buttons are easy to push and clearly marked, and no programming was required. Just put the batteries in and it worked!

Most universal remotes are hard as heck to get connected to your tv! This one was extremely easy with just a few steps! Every thing connected to my tv, volume control & everything! Was way cheaper than buying from Samsung!
