AO Original Pilot Military Sunglasses (Chrome,57mm)
These are the real McCoy! Don't fall prey to imitations. The lenses in these glasses are engineered to give "true color" and they do! They are crystal clear with no imperfections. The matte nickel, bead blasted frames are most attractive and do not reflect light. The temple braces fit snugly to the head and do not cause pressure on the ears like regular sunglasses. I have several other pilot's glasses including Ray Ban's and the AO's are much more comfortable when worn for long periods.Overall, I don't see a need to spend a lot of $$ on fashion sunglasses that aren't for real. If you are a pilot, these will be your favorites. They make cloud formations stand out nicely.

Best value and quality out there
I have always bought the $20-30 plastic lensed sunglasses that because I'd lose or break sunglasses no matter what they cost, but I was considering finally biting the bullet and buying a very high end pair of Oakleys or RayBans for $200+. I have never been able to bring myself to buy a high, high end pair of sunglasses, mainly because I still tend to be too rough on them, scratch them or lose them too quickly. However, I'd reached the point where I was about to do so because the glare and warped view of the world given by the cheap sunglasses was driving me nuts. I wanted to see the world clearly. That's when I came across a review of the American Optical Pilot glasses.Wow! Fantastic value! The clarity and durability of the glass is unlike any other pair of glasses I've ever owned. It is a real pleasure to wear a pair of sunglass that don't flare up when looking sunward. And they just don't scratch. But the thing that surprised me the most is how comfortable they are. I've never worn glasses with the aviator bayonet frame arms (rather than the over the ear arms) and I am pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and sturdy they are. When I wear over the ear frames, they tend to weaken over time and the hinge breaks after a while. Doesn't happen with these.I seriously doubt I'd have been more pleased with a $2-300 pair of sunglasses.

great...for the price point.
For the price, these are great. Those saying they are better than high end glasses have probably never owned a pair. They are much lighter weight than both of my Ray bans, which can be a good thing. But the frames are thin...almost too thin, to the point of cheapy. The glass is quality and super clear, but also thin.Size wise, I got the 57s and I wish they were wider, but I have a pretty big noggin. The style is great...classic. You won't set any trends wearing these, they just look good. They are better than any cheapo glasses you'll find at target or wal-mart by far and for around $50, they are well worth the price. Just don't go in expecting the quality and materials of $200 ray bans or Maui Jims.

The real deal, don't sit on them
These are great, non-polarized, neutral gray, glass lens sunglasses. I buy these because they are high quality and a good value for money. I'm not the most careful person in the world, and gave killed 2 pairs if these this year, so there's no way I'm dropping hundreds for a pair of sunglasses that are "as-good" at best. I can usually find these for $50 or so, and sometimes less as repaired, or returns.

Best sunglasses i've ever owned
These are by far the best pair of sunglasses i've ever owned. They are the authentic military issued aviators. They are great at blocking out the sun, and get a lot of attention from people i come in contact with. They are a great style, and after purchasing them I've noticed them a lot in several movies, the most recent i can remember is seeing them in Iron Man 3, being worn by the Manderin.only downside is it does have "AO" printed on the lens in very small print, not a big deal for me, and also punched into the metal on the arm. I believe if you order from the actual site, which bumps up the price to about $90 these markings most likely wont be on the product, but for the price cut of nearly half the price, i dont mind.

Sent wrong glasses
I live in Brazil so hed the product shipped to a friend so I could pick up on my way through town. The box said they were Chrome on the outside barcode sticker, but it had clearly been opened as the box itself was in rough shape - probably a return. In the box was a considerably less attractive pair of Black rimmed glasses. They are not at all what I ordered, or wanted, but given the fact that I did not have the time or opportunity to deal with sending them back as I had to return home (and it was a Sunday), I remain disappointed.Ordering online is generally done because it saves time and effort. Not to create more work for consumers. Now I am stuck with some glasses that look like rejects from a Magnum P.I. episode. Guess it is time to start growing a mustache.

Best sunglasses I've ever owned
Bought these to replace my previous AO aviators. I opted to buy the used "like new" and the arrived in near perfect condition. It looks like the box was probably opened and maybe the sunglasses tried on before doing a return. Very happy with the purchase and savings. As for the glasses, I had the previous pair for 4 years. They were pretty amazing sunglasses. Previously I had only bought cheap $10-20 junk and usually went through 1-2 a year. These are built to last. Despite some bad drops the lenses never scratched or broke. The only reason I had to buy a new pair was because I accidentally left the old ones where my 7 month old lab puppy could get them. Surprisingly the lenses appeared to have survived but the frames were irreparably destroyed.I'm a big fan of the "bayonet" style ear pieces. They are very easy to put on and feel secure. I've worn them on roller coasters and in the pool without a problem. Unlike some other styles with the wrap around ear piece I've never had a problem with that digging behind my ear and causing discomfort. If you were like me, buying cheep sunglasses every few months, then get over it and "splurge" on these. It is cheaper in the long run and your eyes will thank you.
