I hate the thought of nasty stagnant water circulating permanently in a device. So this thing is not pretty. It’s a bit loud if you need a silent room this is not for you. We recently got a memory foam mattress and it got so warm that I decided to try this. It is amazing and keeps me cool all night. I have the most sound sleep that I have had in years. Pro level sleep with this. The cons are that the silicone tubes they provide to connect to the unit are so short - longer tubes to the mattress pad would be nice. Also, the mattress pad has a rather hard plastic piece where the tubing enters the pad. That piece of the design is very annoying. I can feel the tubes in the pad as this is placed under the fitted sheet. I got use to it because I have been sleeping so soundly with this. The unit is an additional expense for outfitting a higher quality mattress. Had I realized how terribly warm memory foam mattresses are, I would have purchased one with cooling technology built in. I do use this unit on the coolest setting and have to add water daily because of the setting. I have drained the unit once prior to a vacation. I wouldn’t let this sit with the water in it. Get this if you need to cool down while sleeping. It seriously has had a positive impact on my sleep.

My unit does not cool that well, i was suprised considering most reviews said it did but the one i have barely cool.
