You buy a better detector.
Done homework before i bought this i suggest you do the same. This os the best value you can buy. Yellow jacket makes one equally as good but cost about 80 bucks more. Don't care name brand just long as it works. And it dose. You can take the cap of you bottle and it will pick up the residue left on the cap. I hooking my lines up good 3ft from the detect and that shit blew up what little came out outside. I can find stuff i can't see with big blue. No joke. Try this you won't be disappointed and you find everything even 410.

Best leak dectector!
This is the best leak detector I have ever owned! I've been in the hvac business for 25 years, and never had a leak detector work like this one.

You must choose the right detector for the job...
I wish people would indicate which refrigerant they are trying to sense. That makes a HUGE difference. ALL infra-red models are better at HFCs than the older model like the D-Tek (Heated diode). The new D-tek "Select" is going to do a great job with HFCs like 410A, 404A, 417C - but its IR. That is the difference. But when I try a new style using a heated sensor on r22, or even the UV sensor, its not nearly as sensitive. I use my trusty H10-G or H10PM for those. Even the older D-tek is great at R22 and the other CFC refrigerants. But using them on HFCs - just forget it.IN the end, I use everything at my disposal. Recently had a very difficult time finding a leak after trying everything - even my Accutrak Ultrasonic couldnt find the leak, and that one was always very reliable. So I ended up using UV Dye. Let it circulate for about 2-3 weeks, went back and bam! Leak found at the distribution tubes in the evaporator. (This was a walk in cooler) I pinpointed with a FieldPiece Heated diode, then Zeroed in with Bubbles. Sometimes you have to try everything, which means many tools. I have several leak detectors. You should too.
