Hello and thank you for your interest in Moen products.  The Moen T2472EPBL Genta Posi-Temp Pressure Balancing Eco-Performance Modern Shower Only Valve Trim, Valve Required, Matte Black is compatible any new or existing Posi-Temp valves.  Posi-Temp valves, 2510, 2520, 2570, 2590.

The shower head is non-metallic but it does have a metal shower ball. Can the shower head be replaced for one that provides more pressure?

The T2472EPBN Genta Posi-Temp Pressure Balancing Eco-Performance Modern Shower Only Trim, Valve Required, Brushed Nickel is an eco-performance water saving product that allows 1.75gpm. Water regulations have to be followed in your state to determine if you can install a showerhead with a higher flow rate. If you can have a showerhead with 2.5gpm flow rate in your state, Moen offers model 205W2SRN (purchase separately).
