Nifty way to measure tire tread
I have seen these used on the internet. I ordered one and it came right on time. But to much of my disappointment the measuring rod fell right out of the unit right out of the box. I called Amazon and told them the story and they sent me another one like the next day. The second one works just fine and the measering rod it firm in place. It has a nice color coded range dial and the number are pretty easy to read. Also has a little velvet carrying bag too! I do like the product. =KL=

Excellent tire tread gauage.
This item is 1/2 the price of a similiar looking item from another manufacture. It works as advertised. Glad I purchased it; do not have to rely on our auto mechanic telling me if my tire treads are good or bad.

Great tool BUT..... might need adjustment
Works great .... NOW...... I had to take the plastic cover off, pull the needle off the center pin, push the plunger and all down onto a flat surface and then reattach the needle to indicate ZERO. When received.... On a perfectly flat surface it was actually off by 1/32... to the negative!! All good now otherwise woulda been 5 stars.

Easy to read.
This tread depth gauge was accurately zeroed. The scale is in 32nds which is how tire tread depths are normally specified, so I found it convenient to use. The red, yellow and green zones on the face are handy too. I had gone to a tire store to get a slow leak fixed. They told me the tire in question was in the red zone so their regulations would not allow them to fix the tire. I was hoping they were wrong, so I bought this gauge. Alas! It confirmed what I had been told, so I will have to buy a set of tires. I am happy with this gauge even though unhappy with what it told me! On the other hand, it is better to be driving on a safe set of tires.

Works well.
Same kind of gauge they use at the auto dealership I drive for. It is accurate and it helped me discover I really need new tires for one of my vehicles! Can highly recommend.

Use this every day at work, it’s accurate and has a good display for making technician videos. And easy to read. Also the color matches up with our multi point inspection, which is a plus and they are cheap in case you drop it and break it.
