Excellent replacement
Without taking up carpet and floor boards, it was not possible to get to the 12v transformers and change our lights to 240v GU10 led. However, these are excellent replacements which make the 12v lights dimmable. Similarly, changing the on/off wall switch to a dimmer switch was easy. In my case, no electrician needed. The only downside is that 50 watts per bulb are being used versus 5w; but per day that is a matter of pennies.
