Looks, feels, and works like a luxury product - with a bargain price tag
Let's start with a clarification - some existing reviews describe this product as a moisturizer. While the cream does feel initially moisturizing, retinoids usually dry skin out. Retinoids have two major uses: anti-aging (by helping skin heal from UV damage), and acne treatment.THE SCIENCEThe most well-evidenced retinoid you can get is a product with pure retinoic acid in it - the most well-known example is tretinoin. Tretinoin is great, but there are three problems: (1) you usually need a prescription to get it; (2) buying tretionin without a prescription is often very expensive, and (3) tretinoin can be very aggressive on the skin, causing irritation, skin peeling etc.If you want a cheaper OTC product with similar effects, you will usually end up buying something with retinol in it. Retinol is ineffective in its base state - it has to be converted on your skin to retionic acid to have any effect. But this process takes two steps: RETINOL gets converted to RETINALDEHYDE, which then gets converted to RETINOIC ACID, which is the active ingredient we want.Research in this area seems a bit limited, but a 2010 review (https://academic.oup.com/asj/article/30/1/74/199813) suggests retinol might work, but effects are small and uncertain. However, the same article finds much better evidence supporting the use of retinaldehyde (also known as retinal), which is the active ingredient in this product. The superiority of retinaldehyde makes sense, given that only one chemical conversion is required. After learning about the science, I was keen to try a product with retinaldehyde. I found this product, and with such a cheap price tag, trying it out was a no-brainer.PACKAGING AND BRANDINGThis £7 cream tub looks like something I would find in the bathroom of my bourgeois mother. If you gifted this to someone, they would think it cost 5x the actual price. Obviously, this has no bearing on the effectiveness of the product, but its such impressive design and branding that I feel obliged to compliment it.THE CREAMAs other reviews have noticed, the cream is smooth, easy to apply to the face. It has hardly any odour, which was a nice surprise. Many of these kinds of products often smell like a chemical plant, or they smell like the manufacturers have stuffed the product with perfumes to obscure the smell of the chemical plant.DOES IT WORK?The most important question, but as an individual, it's hard to be sure anything is working. I am in my late 20s, my skin is quite good, but I have been sharpening my skincare regime to try and keep it that way for a long-time. Since using the cream, I think I have noticed a softening of some forehead lines, and my acne has been considerably reduced. I also do not experience any significant skin irritation from using the product.Note that retionoids can actually make UV damage worse if you are exposed to sunlight while they are on your face. Apply it in the evening before bed, not the morning.ROUND-UPI literally have no complaints about this product. It is well evidenced and appears to be working for me. The fact that it both fights photoaging and acne makes this an invaluable product for anyone looking to up their skincare game. I just ordered another two tubs of this product. My only concern is that this product will become more expensive when people cotton on to how good it is!

Makes my face seem very moisturised
I haven’t seen any retinol type benefits from this, whether there’s any I’m not sure - but this keeps my face lovely and moisturised.

My Experience with This Retinol Cream
Over the past month, I've been experimenting with this product, and I've seen a multitude of comments on YouTube regarding its ingredients. So compelled was I by its efficacy, that I subsequently purchased their Hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C, and 1% retinol face cream. For the price point, it's a fantastic product, and I have no qualms about it—and neither should you. I've been down the road of investing in high-end products before, only to find little to no benefits. However, a word to the wise: creams alone, irrespective of their prowess, won't work miracles if you're not complementing them with a healthy lifestyle. Optimal skin health demands a holistic approach encompassing a balanced diet, adequate water intake, and restful sleep. It's this trifecta, in harmony with quality skincare products, that truly elevates one's beauty regimen. The retinol cream particularly stands out for me, owing to its thoughtful formulation. It's commendable how it synergizes the potent effects of retinaldehyde with a cocktail of hydrating and soothing ingredients. This ensures the serum works its magic while remaining gentle on the skin.Retinol Cream Breakdown*Organic Anti-Aging Retinol Face Cream* - This formula boasts 1% retinaldehyde in squalane, positioning itself as a rejuvenating day & night cream suitable for all genders. Enriched with aloe vera and vitamin E, here's a closer look at its star ingredients:- Organic Aloe Vera: Celebrated for its calming and hydrating attributes, it's a boon especially when considering the potential irritative nature of retinol for some.- Shea Butter: This emollient, rich in texture, is a savior for the skin, offering profound moisturization. It's a key player in combating the potential dryness inflicted by retinol.- Retinaldehyde (1%): A derivative of Vitamin A, it's less provoking than retinoic acid, yet holds an edge over traditional retinol in potency. It's a champion in the anti-aging realm, addressing skin tone disparities and refining texture.- Vitamin E (Alpha-Tocopherol): Serving as an antioxidant, it shields skin from the onslaught of free radicals. When partnered with retinol, it plays a pivotal role in soothing and minimizing irritation.- Plant-Based Squalane: A feather-light emollient that pledges to hydrate without clogging pores. An essential in retinol serums to negate possible dryness.- Direct Form Hyaluronic Acid: Tasked with moisture retention, it combats the desiccating tendencies of retinol, ensuring skin stays lush.- Pro-Vitamin B5: Also recognized as panthenol, this element not only moisturizes and soothes but fortifies the skin's barrier.

Nice consistency, that's all
Nice consistency and delicate cream. However, there is nothing you can read about the product, the link on the package is not working. No social media info at all. If you put something on your skin is good to know the background. Unfortunately will not buy again.
