Very Basic But Doable
There is an addon dimmer/timer that you can get for this light. It should have been integrated into the light to be honest. By default, the light this thing emit is really strong and you will definitely get algae. The RGBs cannot be controlled. You can't adjust the level of blue, green, and reds. Night mode is just blue, so yeah...

I like this light
My plants seem to love this light I’ve only had it just over a week I can see a difference already. The timer that you buy for the light is also a dimmer very easy to program with no problems great product.

A great light for 20 gallon Long aquariums.
I’ll be honest, I did not intend to purchase this light. I was actually looking at another light from this manufacturer and got bounced by Amazon to this product. When I received it, I was very disappointed. In addition to the other light, I needed a light for a 20 long, however, so I decided to keep this and try it in that capacity. I’m very happy I did.I use a very pale sand in my tanks and the FSPEC lights tend to look bad in shorter (height) tanks as a result. Not this one. There are no weird visuals and the aquarium is beautifully illuminated. There are details apparent with this light I wasn’t even aware were there. Better still, the plants have immediately responded to the light. The one problem I have with this light is that the mounting brackets are horrible. It takes a long time to get them set up and, even then, they need to be reset multiple times to get a passable fit. I ended up not being happy with the final installation , but since it was snuggly seated, I just left it as is. The light is also a bit unnervingly long for the size it’s meant to fit. It does look nice once it’s set up, and I don’t see it being easily bumped or adjusted, but the odd mount still makes me feel uneasy. If you’re looking for a light for a 20 gallon long, though, this is a great fit!

lasted 4 years
Although I expected this light to last for at least 6 years, I guess 4 years isn't bad. The problem with these nice LEDs is that when they do die out, the entire unit needs to be replace versus just a bulb.Although it probably could've been solved with weekly 40% water changes, the excess algae that this light caused in my tank was overwhelming. I ended up covering half the lights with a length of tape to control the algae. All my plants are okay with low light, so I'll have to find something that's not so powerful for the next go-around.

Plants are thriving!
I have a 36 gallon bowfront community aquarium with a variety of plants, fish, and invertebrates. This tank had been established for 2 years when I bought this LED light (prior to that I was using the Aqueon with a standard plant bulb). In the 4 months since I have installed this light my plants have doubled in size, and one of them has even tripled in size. I was never able to get my java moss to take off, and thought my Christmas tree moss had died off completely. I now have Christmas tree moss coming back, and my java moss has quadrupled in size. Needless to say I am very excited about how much of a difference this light has made! Along with the increased plant activity, I have also had an explosion of algae (despite having a full grown dwarf pleco and 4 oto catfish). I was having to feed algae tabs daily, but not anymore! My fish are thriving and I couldn’t be more pleased with this light!!! As a note, the only other thing I have changed in the time I got this light was adding a small power head to help breakup surface tension and aid the filter in circulating the water.

Power supply units are hard to find.
My power supply went out after 4 years of use but I decided on a new unit for caution. These lights are incredible for planted tanks.

Excellent price for a very powerful planted tank light.
This light is awesome for the price. I've had a few aquariums before and have paid about twice as much for weaker halogen bulbs. The downside to LEDs is that they don't quite reach the bottom of a tank as well but that issue won't come up with most home aquariums.I use this light on my 29g tall. I've had it on the tank for around 10 months now. My tank is heavily planted and this light encourages plenty of growth. There is a blue light feature which is meant to be used overnight but I opt not to use it because I find it too powerful. After 3-5 nights of using the blue light setting my pennywort and jungle Val would usually begin to overgrow and black out the tank. Plenty of light even reaches my cryptocoryne--a notoriously finnicky plant--at the bottom of the tank. My 5" amazon sword plant outgrew the tank and began multiplying after about 6 months. This light is built well. The power adapter does not get too hot and the hardware around the cables seems sturdy. I've spilled water on the light a few times with no problems. I don't think you could find a better light for the price.

Better than expected!!
Just recieved this light today for my 24" deep 38g bowfront, better than expected, a lot brighter than I thought it was going to be. I have 2 finnex lights on my 75g tank, a 24/7 and 24/7 SE version, this light is brighter than either of those. Although the finnex lights are definitely better at bringing out the colors of the fish, plants ect... The legs are not a very good design, but I'm not a fan of any legs on the lights I have used in the past, without the legs on the 30" light doesn't really fit a 30" tank, hangs off the ends a little but still works. For the price it's worth it for sure, so far. The 6500k lights do have quite the yellow hue to them but looks natural in the tank. If you are not using it for plants, I would go with the 10000k DA FSPEC instead. Hopefully it lasts!
