Love this kit
Everyone looking for budget knife sharpeners tells you that the ultimate home sharpener- short of learning to hand sharpen- is a Chinese knockoff of the Edge Pro and buy the Edge Pro stones. I tried that, and I'm here to tell you, pay for the real thing.Pros:-Sturdy setup. All the parts snap into place, lock, stick, and stay. My Chinese knockoff felt wobbly and the screw holding the angle of the stone was always threatening to fall out. You can tell the quality here.-Great stones. The Chinese versions are made from questionable materials and war faster, meaning they quickly bow in the middle and become useless for getting a sharp edge.-Sharpens anything, fast, and well. I hadn't sharpened some knives in a while and had half-forgotten the instructions. I used a sharpie from a drawer to draw on the edge to gauge my angle, spent maybe 2 minutes sharpening my first knife, and it's sharp enough for any kitchen work I need to do. If I would spend 2 more minutes with a finer stone I could get it shaving-sharp, but I don't need that in my kitchen with a girlfriend who tends to leave knives out on the counter. One pass is good for me, and I'll save the detail work for my "good" knives that I keep locked away.Cons:-Yes it's expensive. Although, short of spending months learning to sharpen by hand, you won't do sharper edges without spending this kind of money. My knives are back to factory sharp and beyond, and it takes 2 minutes total grinding to go from "won't cut a tomato" to shaving sharp on any knife in my home.Overall:Simply the best. Spend the money. It's so easy to use, and the results are so good. Do it. The only competitor for people who want sharp knives is the Spyderco Sharpmaker. I find it's much harder to get good edges on the Sharpmaker, and the thin stones fill with ground material so fast. The Edge Pro is worth the upgrade if you can afford it.

Works well
Perfect for getting that sharp edge that is impossible with those flat stones. Instead of using the dirill stop to lock on the same sharpening angle between stones I recommend getting the Klein digital angle finder for consistency of the correct angle.

Beautifully well-designed product MADE IN THE USA
This is one of the best purchases I have made recently, worth every penny. Proudly made in the USA--check out the attached photo. That picture alone should tell you everything you need to know about the hand-crafted quality and care that goes into every piece. Thank you Cody!I bought this product to restore the edges on two large blocks of kitchen knives which had probably never been sharpened since their original purchase many years ago. I was impressed from the moment I opened the package--the carrying satchel looks a little cheesy in the photos, but it is anything but. It's made from a very sturdy nylon ripstop, not the cheap thin material I was expecting, very well sewn together, with three internal pockets to hold all the parts of the machine neatly with no wasted space. And the size is perfect to slide into a utility drawer. The package includes a DVD of tutorial videos and an instruction booklet, both very helpful and thorough, although the videos should perhaps be updated to include the newer recommendation in the booklet as to the proper angle to use on kitchen knives. With the help of those instructions, setting up the device was simple. Even as a complete beginner who had never sharpened a single knife in my life, it only took one blade to get the hang of it. And after that first knife, I really began to appreciate even more fully how well designed this machine is. It's simple, elegant, sturdy, and stable (once you have it anchored properly), and the stone arm glides super easily, letting your hands do the work and not interfering with the tactile and audible feedback necessary to get a feel for each cut. Switching stones is fast and easy--another example of the elegant, simple design that went into every aspect of this product. But it was only when I went to put it away that I noticed the signature hidden on the bottom of the device. The Edge Pro is an excellent, well-designed product made in the USA from high-quality materials, assembled by someone who is proud to sign their name--It really doesn't get any better than that.

BUY THIS SHARPENING KIT!
Absolutely awesome sharpening kit. Don't be scared away by the price tag; a quick google search and you'll see why the "clones" of this product are horrible.I saw this on Wranglerstar's youtube channel and decided to make the investment. I got the kit with 120-1000 stones and I have sharpened up about 10 kitchen knives so far. They cut paper like butter. There is a learning curve to this kit, so don't be discouraged the first time you use it. After about 6 knives you'll be making edges that you can shave with. Keep the stones wet so they make a nice slurry and they cut great. The suction cups suck. That's to be expected though; all suction cups suck. You can un-thread the screws on the end and shoot screws back into it through your workbench to make a nice solid mount. Edge Pro on youtube goes over the exact screws to use for that. Highly recommended for a solid surface since the suction cups will slide, making precise grinds hard to accomplish.A great investment if you want sharp knives and hand sharpening is a bit daunting. You can upgrade the stones and easily replace the stock ones for cheap. USA made. NO chinese overseas BS here. Always buy USA made and you will appreciate it.
