Great device at a great price so far
Install was easy, didn't love that I had to drill through my door, in case the lock doesn't work out but that's my only complaint so far.I placed it out doors under a very small awning where it may experience a small amount of water during a heavy rain. I will update if it doesn't last.I have been buying locks like this for years (they all die after 3-4 years) and I usually pay about 180 for a much more basic push button version....technology has come a long way.The fingerprint scanner is fast and accurate. No need to push anything to wake it.The RFID card does have to make actual contact with the key pad, not just near it. I am aware you can buy boosted signal RFID cards....not sure if they are compatible with this handle. The led on the touch key pad is hard to see during the day and is kind of awkward to wake...you sometimes end up entering a key just trying to wake it or turn on passage mode (doesnt lock automatically) by mistake. BUT i have no use for the key pad anyway so i don't care. I like that the numbers on the pad circle when your fingerprint or RFID are accepted and make and X when its not. Sometimes its the details LOL.The programming was very easy. I just hate that even logged in as an administrator you have to hit the set up key (under the screwed on battery cover) to add a user or adjust settings.Overall great deal though!UPDATE!! After one full winter season outside, still going strong and working great!!

Love these locks after figuring out how to program
I bought and installed 3 of these locks back in July 2024 for an apartment building we purchased. My contractor misplaced the full programming instructions which caused us many problems. We were unable to program them. Once we found the instructions i was able to figure them out and love, love, love how sophisticated these locks are. I wrote -- and now corrected -- my unfairly critical review. I hope these locks last a long time as they are amazing - though not perfect. Programming them is not intuitive. You need to carefully read and follow the instructions. The instructions could also be clearer and customer service could not be found when we lost the instructions. (Someone contacted me after i wrote the bad Amazon review). I have yet to try to program the little electronic squares that came with the locks. But i was able to generate -- and then change -- the long (10 digit) permanent passcodes for all three and get them all set up to work on the app on my phone. You've got to accept and use the very long passcode generated once and then you can easily change it to something smaller and unique. I was also able to set up the fingerprint keypad on one of them (which is a crazy cool feature). I just touch the pad and the lock unlocks. But I had a problem with setting up the second one to read my fingerprint. Despite any shortcomings, I'm going to buy twelve or more of these locks to replace all of the locks in the place (it's an 8 plex). For the power of these locks the price is amazing. It's strange to be excited about a lock but these things are truly great (so far at least). Once you figure out how to program them (which, again is not that difficult in fact with proper instructions). One other suggestion: i have not yet found any way for the tenant/occupant to keep the lock unlocked; it always seems to lock automatically. There's probably a way to do this using the app (don't know yet) but there should be a button on the lock itself since the tenants will not have the app. Also, i dont know whether there is a way to copy the single, special key that came with each lock. Doubt it. Pretty certain that this key could never be copied by any regular locksmith so if you lost this one key you could be screwed. Now that I know how to program the locks however I'm not as concerned about this risk. Love these locks overall.

Fancy but unreliable. Old fashioned keys don't fail.
Expect to get locked out at the worst possible time. The unit did just that, it's mechanically well made but the electronics have issues, at a casual locking, carring with me no key, nor my cellphone, the lock stopped responding to my fingerprint and to the passcode too. I didn't get a new fingerprint, it's been the same forever. Bateries were alcaline and new.Connecting to a power bank via USB cable made no difference. After about an hour trying get the thing to let me into my place, I had to resort to a hammer and chisel, the lock is well built, but finally I was able to break it open, not without damaging my door in the process.I recommend leaving a spare key hidden somewhere outside just in case you forgot your keychain when you exited. (I guess not under the door mat).I got used to unlocking using my fingerprint or password, but that's exactly what failed on it.The privacy switch in the inside plate was set to general, not privacy, which prevents opening the door, I had tried it in the past and was aware of that feature.
