Yes it is suitable. It does take a few applications but then the filter is clean.

Q: How many filter cleans do you get from one bottle of this stuff?

A bottle lasts me about 1-year (or more), but it really depends how liberally you apply it. First, I rinse off my filters with the hose, then I spray it on the top, bottom, and side pleats of my 5 filters at least 4 times per year. Then I let the filters soak for 5-15 minutes and hose them off afterwards. Next, I let the filters dry in the sun. If the top and bottom of your filters have some scale build-up, then you may need to soak them (overnight) with some Filter Clean Cartridge Cleaner mixed with water in a bucket.
