Don't Fool Yourself, They Are Worth The Money
Ok, so I have had this for some time now and have given it a good thorough workout to test it. I wanted to be certain I had used it plenty, in all sorts of environments prior to making a review. I have had it on since I received it, used it at the beach, at softball games, on my tripod doing product shots, pretty much everywhere. It has had plenty of break-in and use no doubt. The grip has a great fit and finish. A little more sheen on the plastic surfaces than the Canon body, but it's negligible. More wear and tear will probably bring that down a bit if you are super fanatical about it being exact. Me, I don't care that much, but it's noted. The rubber areas of the grip match pretty much spot on. I think they are a bit more shiny when new out of the box, but that lasts all of a few uses and then it's the same. Feel of the rubber is also spot on. Not too spongy, not too firm, and not slick at all. It just feels right. The buttons all function properly as they should while the pre-focus/shutter has a bit more firm feel to it, but it's nothing I noticed after repeated use, or any learning curve. Some tend to be real soft or overly firm, this one is just slightly more firm and for me, that's just fine. One thing to note, you need to make sure it's tightened pretty well against the body. Slightly loose, and I mean SLIGHTLY, and it tends to lose contact and shut off. I don't think it's a flaw or issue, I just hadn't cranked the screw down as tight as I should have. The batteries and charger all work fine with no compatibility issues, errors or what not. I know some 3rd party batteries register errors, don't work or have all sorts of gremlins, but these have been fine. I think the capacity is a bit less than stated, but at the price, who cares!! It's not something you really need to hold as the gospel with these. They work, work well and last a good time. I haven't had any storage drain issues like other battery buyers have stated with other kinds, so that's a plus. No problems with them in the Canon charger either. All function and record usage as they should. All in all, I would highly recommend the grip and battery package to anyone not wanting to spend easily 5 times as much for the OEM Canon pieces. Sure, sometimes you have to, but with these, no way. I was apprehensive but figured how could I truly go wrong? I didn't. They are a tremendous value and worth checking out.

An Aftermarket 70D Grip a Cut Above the Rest
I have purchased both Canon and aftermarket battery grips for my CANON SLRs in the past, always noting that the construction quality, fit and finish of the Canon grips were generally a bit better than the aftermarket ones. However, I've never had an issue with any of the aftermarket ones regarding actual function or durability. On purchasing a new Canon 70D, I went to look at the Canon grip in person and tried it out on my camera. I then looked on Amazon and saw this grip and it seemed to sit a bit above the previous ones I'd purchased. As it came with 2 x batteries, I decided to give it a try, as it's 1/3 the cost of Canon's model. On arrival, I noted that it is Vivitar branded, which was a pleasant surprise. It has the exact look, fit and finish of the Canon model and is far superior to any aftermarket one I've purchased before. There are no rattles, loose fittings or 'cheap' switches. Every button and switch works as-advertised and the 2 x off-brand batteries worked perfectly with my Canon charger and the camera itself in both still and video modes. I've yet to identify a single 'down' side to the grip and wouldn't ever consider buying the Canon brand one in the future if I could be ensured of this level of quality.

Fits Like a Glove for high demand photo shoots!
I bought this Battery Grip for my backup Canon 70D and am very pleased with its performance. It is made with quality materials and fits as if it was a part of the camera. It is rugged enough to take out in rough terrain without worry while still looking nice on the camera. The price point is worth giving it a try instead of going for the over-priced Canon model. I have gone on demanding photo shoots and used this grip all day without worry of running out of battery. This is a must if you do video with the 70D. Recently I shot a wedding and used this camera for video in addition to some stills after the ceremony. The video was a little over an hour and about a hundred stills. I had over 75% battery after this particular shoot. I recommend this for the Canon 70D as a great accessory to meet demanding photo shoots.

It’s actually pretty quality for the price.
Honestly wasn’t expecting much here but the grip is solid and the batteries seem to hold up well. Would recommend. Fits perfectly on my canon 70d

Pretty good product.
Battery grip works like a charm. Batteries basically report as non-canon but you gotta expect that. Aftermarket is aftermarket. Battery grip is sturdy and fully functional. Glad it came with a screen protector, kinda wish it was one designed for the camera and not a cut-your-own and was a non-glare type. But I'm not that picky really, just sayin'.

Very Good Grip
This is a great product. I have only recently gotten it and put it through its paces. It matches the camera very well. It does add some weight but I like the features for being able to shoot portraits and longer shooting time. The instructions state that you should remove the battery tray to preserve the batteries. If you leave the grip turned on it definitely drains the batteries. It does not seem to do that at all or as quickly when the grip is turned off. I have had many grips through the years this one so far is very good. My only issue is the battery drain if the grip is turned on. The batteries also seem to be very good.
