In case you want to jump to the conclusion, this kit's a pretty decent value for the money. For more detail, read on... I've had a beard since I was about five-years-old, so I know beard stuffs. Having kept it short and neatly trimmed for most of my life (except for that wild spell in 5th grade), I decided this winter; I'd grow it out - going for that Kurt-Russell-as-Santa-Clause look. I lost most all the color in my hair and beard at a ridiculously young age, so after trying to hide that for a couple of years, I said, "screw it!" and let it go white. Being of Scotch-Irish descent, I did start looking like Edgar Winter, but it just wasn't worth the hassle. (Note: I do not judge any women that continue to dye their beards). So this leads me to this here beard review. I noticed the ol' crumb-catcher was getting pretty unruly and dry, and I thought I'd stop scratching up the wife and try and tame my pelt. I've never used anything on my beard before other than Pert, and by gobs, that's a good enough shampoo/conditioner for anyone's beard, man or woman! So I jump on Amazon and start searching for some beard love 'cause Amazon has more products than its namesake has critters. Sure enough, I come across this $15 Jurgen K Beard Kit for Men, and I'm intrigued. (I like how they say, "for Men" to keep women from using it! Amiright ladies!? 😉) $15 bucks for beard oil, beard balm, a brush, comb, scissors, bag, AND a "Luxury Gift Box!?" - be still my beating heart! Well, being the skinflint Scotsman I am (yes, I own several kilts, but no sheep), I figured three fins for my first official beard kit ain't so bad, and if it's a wash, I'll use it on my Golden Retriever (I think she'd look dapper with a Van Dyke). So I placed the order and awaited the Magical Amazon Delivery Fairy™ to arrive. I was not disappointed. The whole kit is a lot better than I expected! The amount of oil and balm in the kit is fairly generous, and not the small sample sizes I've seen in some kits. The comb is nice and sturdy, though I can't place the wood. Definitely a decent hardwood, and no rough, unpolished surfaces, unlike the gun racks we all made back in shop class. Well, back when gun racks were politically correct, anyways. The beard brush is stiff but not too much and is made from bamboo and natural fibers, maybe boar, with a decent-sized polished handle. The bristles don't fall out easily (unlike my hair), and it does a righteous job of keeping bed beard under control in the mornings when the hounds roust me from my slumber to go outside and scream at all the other dogs in the neighborhood. (I think they're discussing politics, but I can't swear to it.) The scissors were surprisingly sturdy and not like the cheap "overseas" ones that seem made from aluminum foil. They're a decent size, sharp, and made from steel. Although a little stiff at first, a drop of the beard oil into the pivot point and they smoothed right out. Not shown in my photo is the really nice, soft burlap bag that holds everything. I planned on using it, but my grandson decided it was better for holding Hot Wheels™, and I must part with it. I can't say no to that little scamp, especially if it winds him up just before we send him home after a visit. So if you've hung around this long, this is a heckuva' good deal for a decent kit. It would make a great birthday or Christmas gift for your man or woman. (Hey, who am I to judge?)

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this product set. I've used all the products for a few weeks now and have had excellent results. My beard looks more like the guy in the second picture of the advertisement (guy in the white t-shirt.) I applied the beard oil as recommended on the packaging, after a shower and on a thoroughly dried beard. My initial concern was how my skin was going to react because I have relatively sensitive, combination skin. I experienced no breakouts or irritation. My beard was moisturized and felt healthier after one application. I appreciate that the scent isn't too strong. It doesn't smell like much, just fresh and clean. Which is great, to me. I used the brush before and after applying the beard oil. To me, the brush better helps manage beard hair than just using a comb. The instructions say brush about once a day. I've had excellent results brushing more than once a day, like after I change shirts (out of work clothes into gym clothes) or after a nap (I love naps). The brush is easy to wash, just apply soap and let it sit bristle-down to dry. I wash it maybe every 2-3 days because I want to wash out excess beard oil and any balm that stays on the bristles. Old/exposed products can't be good for the beard or your skin. The beard comb is nice to use before and after brushing. I use it before to untangle any hair, then after to position and style my beard hair. Low maintenance, very easy to clean. Beard Balm is pretty good. Like hair balm, it helps manage the shape of you beard. The scent wasn't too strong if at all. Which I appreciate. To apply, just follow the instructions and use as much as you need. Definitely massage it into your beard so you can actually get the full use out of the balm. Like all products, there is a "too much" but that's for the user to decide. I comb-brush-comb after applying the balm. Works great. The scissors. I use them before and after I style my beard for those rogue hairs that refuse to comply. Sharp and sturdy, they get the job done.

I've been reading up on Beard Club for the past couple months. Reviews. Instagram comments. Instagram reviews. And it seemed like half of the guys liked it, and half of them hated it. So here's what I gotta say. Look, man. If you've got a bare face and can't grow a beard to save your life, then you can't expect everything in this kit to make one grow one out of thin air, and you should just learn to accept yourself for the way you are. Plenty of guys out there look good without facial hair, and I feel like those are the guys giving this stuff a bad review. For those of us that can grow a decent beard, I can tell you this from only having this kit for a few days: 1. The shampoo and oil smell REALLY good, dude. Even if they don't do anything, which they do since they both soften my beard up a bit and make it less scraggly, they smell really good. If you don't wanna buy the whole kit, I recommend going to their main site and getting a custom box with just the shampoo, conditione, and oil in it. 2. The comb is very nice quality, and the brush feels sooo good on your beard. The first time I put it on my face, I kinda just brushed my beard for a few minutes, purely because it felt nice. I will say though, that I have noticed that a couple of the bristles have fallen out with it. Maybe I'm a little too rough with it, but I thought that would be worth noting. 3. The vitamin spray is scentless. But the ingredients on the back lead me to believe it's not some sort of ripoff of water in a spray bottle. Lastly, the supplements, which I think is what everyone wants to hear about most. I will give an update after my 30 day supply runs out and try to get pictures to go with it as well. I know that through a certain, unmemorable dieting habit of mine in the past, my beard is capable of being a lot fuller than it is normally. So if the supplements aren't able to achieve that, it's most likely because they don't work, and not because of my genetics.

Well my husband has been using this kit for a couple days and it may be an illusion but it seems like it works, hair growth seems noticeable, and the scent and size of the product it actually very nice and convenient. The oiliness isn’t too overwhelming to where it’s smothering but it’s light and moisturizing. Overall seems like a great product!

It's cheap because it has no scent. No essential oils. But it's a no nonsense product. For the price you get a brush and a comb sooo there is that. It's good. But I do like some sort of woody or spicy sent. Especially for winter time.
