No made in england on the sole, as all the ones i have do have this, are these made in england?

"The Original" is stamped on the bottom of the sole. On the inside, along with the size, it is marked, "made in China".

Was just about to order these and saw all the terrible reviews regarding the soles. Has this issue been addressed yet?

I bought a new pair of this exact shoe locally within the last few years and have this same exact sole delamination issue. I came here with intent to order a replacement pair (Doc Martens wouldn't honor the warranty as I didn't save my original purchase receipt) thinking it was just a fluke thing. Thanks to other reviewers I see this is a chronic problem with current production. I like my old Docs made in England but no more for me now that they are made in China and Vietnam. The quality is not the same.

Doc Martens do not come in half sizes.

Does the black nappa take a shine when polished?

You can strip the leather with a brush and soap so you can shine them but, I don't recommend it
