Great Walkman
Wonderful. Bought it for my 5 year old kids (twins) and it’s easy to use, durable and great for the price. They use it to listen to my old books on tape from when I was a kid. Works with headphones too.

My kid uses this every day
My daughter says the tape speed is steady even as she is jumping around. No radio is a bit of a bummer, but there is an input jack and a recording head. Otherwise, it's pretty straightforward if you like the old school aesthetic. You need to expect a unique soundscape and "character" otherwise you will be disappointed with sound quality. It's great for my kid- she uses it every day with rechargeable batteries.

Satisfactory mono cassette playback - I like it!
This is an affordable personal "walkman-style" cassette player. It's a very simple device, quite easy to use. I find the unit's form factor is quite nice, it's easy to handle in one's hand. Playback quality is mono (not stereo), there is a little bit of motor noise and typical tape hiss but less of the electromagnetic noises than on some other contemporary walkman-type players. It seems fairly well built. Wow and flutter is passable. The integrated speaker is no better than on a typical smartphone, but headphone playback is acceptable. I've listened to my F-119 via headphones several times at bedtime, and have enjoyed it quite a bit even though the sound is mono. Finally, while you can record with this device, the built-in microphone isn't very sensitive and unless you put your mouth right up against the mike you won't get much recorded output. As a recorder, this is not as proficient my vintage Sony Pressman TCM-DV20 for voice recording. The Tomashi permanent magnet erase head produces a high level of recording hiss, but fortunately, this doesn't affect playback. Some other walkman-type units incorporate an AM/FM tuner, but given the very cheap low-grade electronics in these devices you might experience a bit of bleed-through "crosstalk" from the radio when playing tapes. All the buttons and controls function satisfactorily, and my initial impression is this Tomashi is not likely to damage or "eat" cassette tapes when used carefully. At this price point, I'd recommend this F-119 as a competent unit.

Amazing product!!
This is an amazing product. It sounds absolutely clear with zero extra noises. It also makes an amazingly low amount of noise when rewinding and such. It is small enough to fit in a pocket without it pressing the buttons, and the microphone is perfect for taking audio notes and personal recordings. It has 2 aux inputs, one for a microphone, and one for headphones. There is one important thing that I learned from the very first time I bought a cassette for 50 cents, which is that I needed to press the stop button before taking my tape out. I learned that you can’t take a tape out of a cassette player while it is playing said tape. When you do take a tape out while it’s playing, that is what people commonly refer to as the cassette deck “eating” a tape. This can also happen if the player gets stuck in the playing position. Don’t make the same mistake I did!

Do yourself a favor, choose another tape deck
If your answer is yes to any of these questions then you should not buy this and instead choose a different brand: Q1: Are you looking to use this to record onto cassette tapes? Q2: Are you expecting to listen to sound on this device? Q3: Do you expect this device to have stereo sound and recording? Q4: When the description talks about a niche 4.5v barrel plug power cable, do you expect that cable to come with the device you paid for? Main points: 1. For the same price as all the other tape decks on Amazon, this one has 0 features, and what it offers sucks. 2. It offers playback, which you can hear the tape whirring away through the speaker, and it's MONO sound like what the heck?? 3. It offers recording (if you can call it that) through a mic or plug in, the sound again... IS MONO which is horrible and distorts any sort of prerecorded sounds, and voice recording is also a nightmare. 4. Onto the features it doesn't offer: 1. Within 10$ of this price you can find another deck with all the following features 2. AM/FM radio & extendable antenna 3. STEREO SOUND for pete's sake, the only people buying these are those that WANT TO LISTEN TO THINGS. This thing is unbearable, it's not nostalgic, it's not quirky it's unbearable! 4. Auto rewind at the end of the tape, not a deal breaker just a convenience that many other decks have 5. Track seeking to skip between songs by detecting the pauses, again not a deal breaker but there are some cheap decks out there with this amazing feature. Just stop and ask yourself the questions I wrote at the beginning, and then go buy a different cassette player.

Cool little Sony Walkman alternative
This is a really nice cassette player for the price. I like that it has a mic auxiliary port for recording mixtapes. Its main setbacks are it that it has no belt clip (that would be an easy fix). And I think the rewind and fast forward buttons are in the opposite positions. It takes AA batteries and projects pretty loud. I would’ve liked more color options. I guess I can’t complain too much but this will be my main way of recording to cassettes now. It’s portable and weighs just enough. I’d recommend it mostly unless you need one with a belt clip

A Gift For A Friend
I used these a lot when I was younger. A friend needed it to record his ex because his cell phone always announced that it was recording. It worked perfectly when I gave it to my friend.
