Great Product for Post Surgery Recovery
We purchased this stretcher for our Cocker Spaniel that is recovering from a broken leg and pelvis surgery. He will be bed ridden for at least 3 weeks on the stretcher. This stretcher has made it so much easier to move him from room to room so he can be with us at all times. We layered it with sheepskin, towels, and pee pads respectfully. We did take the wheels off for the time being so we can carry it through doorways easier. With the wheels, it is a tight fit. My husband modified the stretcher w/ braces and clamps so there are no worries of accidently folding in half. As manufactured, the stretcher should stay open but it does not lock. Recovery is so much easier for our pup and us that we have decided to purchase another so we can just move him to another prepared stretcher each time he needs new bedding. Thank You!!!

Sturdy
I can’t comment on how it pulls or works my old lady dog passed away before I could use it. But it seemed to be built well

Bad quality
Cannot comment on the operation yet but came with missing bolt nuts and oversized eye screws so wouldn’t fit. Quality control is obviously a problem with this product. If this is for emergency use assemble on arrival and be prepared to buy bolts, nuts and eye screws from local hardware store. This product is more for the handy man who can correct any manufacturing or quality defects.

Good but flawed item.
I have mixed feelings about this item. My beloved German Shepherd, Rumbles, is elderly and ill, she has a paralyzed hip and cannot stand up on all four legs. We needed something desperately in order to safely move her from room to room, including up and down stairs and tight corners, to get her outside. This product fits the bill on maneuverability! It's both handy and sturdy. Rumbles is 75 lbs and this little gurney provides the perfect comfort and support for her. It arrived a day early, which was very appreciated. Being on wheels is a perfect touch since I must transport her often by myself. However, the hardware that comes with it for assembly are quite cheaply made. What a shame. We had to make a trip to the hardware store in order to assemble it. The bolts that came with it to attach the wheels were not a proper fit, way too large for the drill hole. I did NOT attach the strap, since it seemed useless to me. The handles are good enough for gripping, and I would not trust a strap anyway. The display photo of the item is deceiving, as you cannot just strap your dog in. There is a mesh covering that envelops your dog in order to get strapped in. The only problem with that is, the mesh is held in place with only hook and loop fasteners, and when she slides down, it doesn't hold quite well enough. I give it 4 stars overall, because once you need a product like this, you are in desperate need for your precious pet, and you are so thankful that a product like this even exists. Could it be made better? YES. Is it worth the money? YES, despite its flaws, it IS!

Straps are attached REVERSED and can't be tightened sufficiently. My dog SLID OUT of the stretcher!
This would have been a GREAT option to use for my dog, who is going to get surgery tomorrow. Unfortunately, whoever assembled this put the buckles on reversed, so that the sliding and tightening buckles were attached to the frame, and the stationary receiving buckles were sewn onto the mesh covering. This is exactly the OPPOSITE of how it is shown in the photos, video, and how it is supposed to be put together. With the buckles being put on reversed, the securing straps cannot be tightened down sufficiently to prevent the dog from sliding down into the bottom of the stretcher. If I had not tested this out on my dog BEFORE he got his surgery, he would likely have been injured when he was his most vulnerable just after the surgery and would have had to be put to sleep because of that. This is absolutely horrible quality control, because there could not have been any product testing after assembly. Otherwise, even an imbecile would have been able to see that it had been assembled so incorrectly as to not function the way it is designed, in a way that would be dangerous a dog that it was used to transport.

Great stretcher
Great stretcher. However, we had to rethread the screws. It would not screw in as delivered.

Keep looking for something better!!!!
Our shepherd weighs 85 lb. and is 12 years old. She can no longer help herself into the station wagon. We purchased this stretcher to comfortably move her in and out the vehicle after surgery. I must say it was very helpful in moving her from the vehicle to the house, but not with problems. I does the job but it is made with a black heavy weight plastic?? (hot) bed. I wish it would be like the one the vet used, which was made out of a heavy weight nylon/polyester?? material which was much cooler, with wide restraints NOT attached to a cover. Our dog had surgery and she laid on the hot bed for the hour trip home. We tried to keep a towel under her stomach to reduce the heat but she was coming out the the pain medicine, was very uncomfortable and kept moving. The mesh safety cover that is on top it also hot. The safety belts are sewn directly to the mesh, therefore to keep the dog safely restrained during travel (traveling 70 mph for one hour) this hot mesh covers their body from head to tail. Due to her surgery we cinched the safety belts so she was comfortable. When we lifted her out, which was quite easy due to the stretcher, we made the mistake of setting it down on the bottom wheels to move it away from the vehicle before we would pick it up to go into the house, she actually slipped out through the bottom onto the ground! My recommendation is "if you need something in a pinch then this will do, otherwise do as we are doing, look for something better.
