OVV3D PLA Filament 1.75mm, Tri-Color Multicolor Rainbow Silk PLA Filament

Beautiful colors and prints really well! I’m really happy with this tricolor filament! The color shift is gorgeous, and you can clearly see the different colors depending on the angle of the print. It gives even simple models a really cool effect without having to do anything special. It printed smoothly with no issues, and the finished print came out clean with great detail. I especially love it for articulated prints and anything with a lot of curves because those shapes really show off all three colors. The filament also looks even better in person than I expected from the listing photos. Definitely one I’d buy again. If you’re looking for a fun multicolor filament that gives your prints a little extra personality without dealing with filament changes, I recommend it!

Edit: turns out my extruder was on it's way out and this filament is just a little less forgiving than normal PLA. Great wood PLA. I would recommend this brand to anyone looking for wood PLA. Underwhelming experience. This took awhile to dial in settings, but then it was putting out really good looking results. No plate adhesion issues or layer adhesion issues for me. However, on a 14 hr print I had a few underextruded walls. Nozzle seems totally clear with some cold pulls. There could be some heat creep, but I doubt it since I have the top off and door wide open and it's such an inconsistent issue. No other filaments are doing this to make me think the extruder is bad. Based on other reviews my guess is it might not be wound very well on the spool and the extruder was just starving for filament. I would use again for smaller projects, but I'm not sure I'd pay for it again.

Worked well so far. Gave it a good dry just to be safe before printing, and the quality has been nice. With some sanding and a bit of stain I was able to get some really good wood looking textures (there is no grain printed onto the platform, I found with a water based stain that if you apply it generously and then wipe it away softly, it will pool up in a way that looks like wood grain). Used on my anycubic Kobra X at 195C with the regular brass 0.4mm nozzle without fuss. I think it’s a good value if you want to print something that looks and feels a little more woody. Id also recommend higher infills, having a little heft and a deeper sound make it feel more wood like. (Note the arm in the picture is different, only the base is wood PLA and was the best stain job I’ve gotten so far)

I had high hopes for the OVV3D Matte Tri-Color Rainbow PLA, but it turned out to be the single worst filament I’ve ever used. Right from the first layer, it was clear this was going to be a struggle. The filament is incredibly stringy, leaving fine plastic wisps all over the print that are a nightmare to clean up. No matter how much I adjusted my retraction settings or lowered the temperature, the oozing never stopped. It’s a mess that ruins the surface finish of even the simplest models. The print quality itself is just as disappointing. I experienced constant issues with clogging and uneven extrusion, which led to weak layer bonding and several failed prints halfway through. For a filament marketed as "easy to print" with stable diameter tolerances, it performed very poorly. It seems to be extremely sensitive to environmental conditions, and even after drying it out, the performance didn't improve. It’s simply not a reliable material for anyone wanting a smooth, "set it and forget it" printing experience. Perhaps the biggest letdown was the color. The "Matte Rainbow" effect I was expecting was completely absent. Instead of a vibrant, gentle transition between colors, the shades looked dull, muddy, and darker than advertised. The tri-color blending didn't happen as promised; it mostly just looked like a dirty, inconsistent gray-ish mess on my final pieces. It lacks the "dream-like" quality shown in the marketing photos and looks very cheap once finished. I am giving this one star because it is practically unusable. Between the constant stringing, the mechanical failures, and the ugly color output, it was a total waste of money and time. If you’re looking for a high-quality matte or multicolor filament, save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. This roll is going straight into the trash, and I won't be buying from OVV3D again.

Really like this filament. That said, it has gotten stuck in my Bambu A1 direct extruder suggested the diameter is larger/smaller than tolerance. I know it was stuck in the extruder because it wouldn't push out of the extruder even with the hot head removed. Only happen 1 time, but was in the middle of a 200g print and failed at 168g; so about $7.00 down the toilet and back 12 hours in print time. Update: Failed on reprint after about 93g. So out 261g filament for a 200g print... Trying again. Will be requesting a replacement if this next one fails. I looked back at my smaller prints and realized I hit the same problem on another print, but it was at the very end of the print so I expect no impact on it. Really torn on this filament. I love the appearance, but quality control on filament diameter appears lacking. 10Apr25 Update: Clogs continue to be a problem, especially in case of long prints. Drying helps out a lot, but if you cannot dry and feed to your printer you should expect clogging. Love the color and print quality so I am keeping it 4 star, but I cannot give it a 5 star given the advance handling required. Also to clarify - the clogging occurs during filament switch on a Bambu A1 Mini. Only humidity issue I see during printing itself is it will start to get stringy after about 2-3 days of being out and printing in approximately 50% ambient humidity (Florida)

This review is specific to the Walnut Wood PLA filament. I have never gone from being so overly pleased with a filament to so utterly disappointed in it within a single order. I previously tried out all of the OVV3D wood filaments by ordering the mini-spool sample 4-pack. Out of those, the Walnut had a great color, and all of them had a true wood look and feel to them. So much so that you could see the dust in the filament after printing. After settling on the Walnut, I ordered a full size roll. It was not only a slightly different color, which I could deal with, but was an entirely different look and feel. The full spool prints with an almost silk or satin sheen to it vice the matte the sample rolls had. It also has no visible dust or fibers after printing. If I didn't know any better, I would assume it was a simple brown silk or satin filament, and not wood filament, but I do know that it is not that if for no other reason than the distinctive smell unique to wood impregnated filaments. To confirm that I was not imagining things, I used the remainder of the sample spool I had of the same filament to print a test model, half with the sample filament, half with the new full size roll. I was not mistaken, the full size roll just isn't the same as the sample roll in color, look, texture, or physical feel. I can't say if this is a quality control issue, if different runs of the same filament are different every time, or if the sample rolls are not from the same manufacturing process or plant, I just know it's not the same. Highly disappointing, and I won't be ordering this wood filament from OVV3D again.

Overall, a nice filament. The reason I am giving 4-stars is due to colour, not performance. The colour is definitely more dull, not as vibrant, then what's shown in the advetisement photos. I made a 13" dragon and unfortunately that wasn't big enough to fully go through the rainbow colours. Next time I will be looking for a filament that changes colour more frequently then this one. I used this in my Bambu P2S AMS Pro with zero issue. This filament has a slow print speed, so just make sure you adjust the speed accordingly otherwise you probably will have problems.
