I read the reviews too. I know a lot of people complained about the “self inflating” feature. Upon opening the product and freeing it of its elastic bands it did begin to inflate. The suction of air was audible. After a couple of minutes it was very slow to where I realized it was either going to take forever (and I needed it now) or I had to inflate it myself. I ended up blowing into it like a regular inflatable. It’s really not that big of a deal. This mat is SO padded!!! It has a foam inside as well as the air it later gets by inflating. Don’t let the reviews steer you away. Once I blew it up and sealed the valve it was absolutely perfect and sturdy. It fits like a glove in the Regalo play pen. I’m not kidding. There are no gaps. My little one smacked his head on the floor while rolling in the playpen the other day. My play pen doesn’t have padding and the regular mat I was using was not padded enough at all. Insert this one. Please buy!! Whoever is really stuck on the fact that it does not self inflate is lazy. Blow it up and call it a day. Gosh.It’s very easy to clean up messes. Totally wipeable.I haven’t folded it back up for travel but it honestly seems as easy as opening the valve and rolling it into a burrito to release the air. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The media could not be loaded.  I got this to go in the Regelo portable play yard. I thought the self-inflating feature was great. I unfolded and let it do the work on its own. You also have the option to put extra air in for a more firm surface. The carrying bag seems silly considering that it suggests to leave the mat the lay flat when not in use, but will at least give you somewhere to store for long periods of not using.

Purchased this to put in the bottom of our Regalo play deluxe. I knew purchasing this. It was not going to be large enough for the deluxe. We needed something soft to keep her from being straight on the ground. If baby spits up it can easily be wiped clean and doesn't seem to hold water. It works great on uneven surfaces to provide padding between baby and the ground. We do blow into it for a firmer pad but it is not bad just using the self inflator. As far as getting it folded we have not been able to figure out how to flatin it like it was when it first came.

Clean easy, makes babies a little sweaty. The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is because…It’s very slow to inflate, I often end up blowing in itIt’s kind of a pain to get the air out to find up because the valve lets air in. Soo you really have to keep pressure on it when folding and then close the air valve quickly and before you take your pressure off of it.

I was a little nervous because I wasn’t 100% sold on it but man, this thing is great! Fits perfectly and is super cute. Easy as heck to clean. (We had an.. explosive event and it was no problem taking it out to clean and disinfect. I didn’t even warp the color.) I did have to blow it up a bit upon opening the box.

This playmat is cute but I have several issues with it. Firstly, it’s too big for the hiccapop play pod. Secondly, the self inflate isn’t all the great, I usually blow some air into it manually by mouth. It’s not easy to put away and pull out daily which is what I wanted. And lastly, the self inflate tube sticks out quite obviously and my daughter who is teething is obsessed with chewing at it. I will be trying to return this through Amazon.

One of the best investments I've made for my baby. All you have to do is unscrew the top and it inflates itself. I like to leave mine out for a couple of hours so it's max inflated, but I've also used it after 10 minutes and it's great. Deflating is super easy too, just open the cap and fold it in. You can actually fold it and get it back in the bag. Waterproof too, so we can take it outside under the splash mat, in the tent, on the hardwood, literally anywhere!
