It works well to increase strength to usable range for my intended use as backup in rural area
Definitely meets my expectations and I was able to maximize the cell signal gain so I now have a usable data Hotspot if my Starlink fails. I live in a rural area of upper Wisconsin with only a single cell tower (Verizon) in proximity. I had been a Frontier Communications customer with old copper DSL which was the only option other than satellite but Frontier is in the process of abandoning the copper lines and, unfortunately, they are not running fiber to my location. So I installed Starlink for internet, which so far has been excellent, but wanted a backup option in case of failure/outage but my cell signal was not good (1 bar, sometimes 2 with DL speeds around 2-4 Mbps) so I purchased the HiBoost Sidekick. FYI, prior to purchase I downloaded and read their installation instructions and ended up emailing their support multiple times as I worked through my install plan - including installation of a grounded lightning arrester because we get a lot of thunderstorms up here. They responded to all my questions promptly. Using online sites and android apps I was able to determine the tower location (& bearing) and elevation difference from my home. I then installed the antenna using a compass app to set the degree angle to the tower bearing and also slightly angled up to account for the elevation difference then temporarily ran the cables through a window and to the location where I planned to place the booster. SUCCESS. I actually achieved maximum dB gain and was getting 14-20 Mbps DL & 1.5 Mbps UL so was extremely happy to finish the cabling and grounding. I then downloaded the app and used it to register the product as well as using it to disable 2 of the 4 bands I was switching between, including the "5G" band, because they were slowing things down. For reference, my disconnected Frontier copper DSL was 2.5 Mbps DL/ .5 Mbps UL so, as they say, everything is relative - so my new booster signal is fast. Oh, the day after I registered I received a text from HiBoost support asking how things were going and if I had any questions. So I have to say that my experience with HiBoost support both pre and post purchase has been positive. Now I hope this antenna lasts, especially through our snowy, cold winters...but only time will tell. Definitely recommend based upon my needs.

Great product.......Excellent Customer Service
When I ordered this product I had my doubts since I did not have even one bar of signal from any tower most of the time. The only location around my home where I could any reliable signal was sitting in the drivers seat of my vehicle and could never really count on that.........it was often that I would say to myself....'well, no signal today, I'll try again tomorrow'. However, the reviews for Hiboost were very encouraging and with 30 days to discover if it would work for me I decided to give it a go and take a chance. Upon receiving the the product, having collected the recommended additional apps for locating towers and measuring signal strength including the Hiboost 'Signal Supervisor' all of which provided little confidence as to the possibility that Hiboost was going to work for me. Life was quite busy for me at the time, so I put the whole idea aside for the time being. At some point my son showed an interest in trying to make work. Without reading any infor or using any apps, one night he set the antenna on our picnic table on the patio hooked it to the router which he took inside to see what it could do. In the moving he reported that he had been able to watch movies all night (@ 1080p) all night. With this news I was convinced to do a proper install to see what would happen. With the apps I determine the best direction in which to point the antenna and mounted on a mast about 15 foot above ground. Since that install we have enjoyed the use of our cell phones inside. The outdoor signal from the cell tower, I still have no idea just exactly where the tower is or how far away it is, but we consistently are able to get about 3.0 Mbps. We are now able to use our phones inside. As far as surfing and viewing Youtube, with only 3 Mbps with a minimum of buffering on the worst days and no buffering most of the time. This is far superior to our sattelite WiFi provider. This is where Hiboost's Customer Service showed their dedication to service. As we continued to use this router I noticed that the unit seemed to me to be running quite hot and the display on the router was no light enough to be of any real use. I reported these conditions to one of the, I assume current customer Customer Service reps that had contacted me to see how it was going for us using the Hiboost System. Without hesitation I was sent a replacement unit to see if that would satisfy my concerns. He wasn't sure that what I reported was actually a problem, but gave me the chance to confirm that the routers performance was normal and in the end I returned the replace unit because it performed identically as my original unit, after which I returned the replacement unit.....all of this without any expense to me. I call that Service. Thanks Hiboost!

This HiBoost Sidekick is one nice little unit and has great support but there is one caveat......
So I bought this product because I wanted to increase my 1 bar cellular service signal in my house. And after some research, I just realized they had these nice little cellular booster devices that have been out for the last few years. There's a lot of choices out there with a large range of prices too. Which makes it hard to make a decision. With luck, I tried this Hiboost and a cheaper brand. After some comparison, Hiboost clearly put out a better signal than the other cheaper brand. So don't be scared to spend a little on this purchase, quality makes a difference. This particular package had nice connections and the parts you need to get it up and going quickly. The best part to me was this model gave you a display not just some silly LED lights so that you could actually see what bands are coming in and at what strength. It helps you evaluate your input signals too. This also has an app that you can get that coordinates with the unit to give you input/output values for adjustments. But I never made it that far yet. Nice to know that it was there though. My one caveat here is don't expect a huge boost to you signal in your whole house. It's just not going to happen. So all these devices claim to give you like 2000-4000 sqft of boosting but I think it is a load of c###. Yes I got like 4 bars within about 3', 3 bars out to about 8', ad 2 bars out to about 10-15', and after that I don't think I'm getting any additional help. So to me plan on only boosting the room the device is in unless you buy output antennas for other areas. Fortunately I only needed this for items in the 3' range so it worked well. And the big factor was with the increased signal you get a bump on your speeds. That was big.................The bonus here was the customer service. They reached out to me right after purchase for any technical help I needed and then even sent me a directional extended output antenna to help me with my issues. That was a pleasant surprise and generally unheard of. The new antenna helped some but not like I feel it should have. But of course I'm not an expert. Anyway I totally recommend this unit and this vendor if not for the device but especially for their support of their product. They genuinely seem like they want to get it to work for so just don't have large expections on this actually boosting more than the room it's in and you'll probably very happy, especially with HiBoost's customer service.

This works
Decent product. Easy installation. Range lower than expected. Its advertised for 2K sq ft. but signal outside a 800 sq ft room where the indoor antenna is installed is very weak. Works great inside the room. I went from having no reception to 5 bars. Awesome customer service. Liam contacted me after I received the product. I was short a bit of extra cable to get the antenna where I needed it. Liam sent it to me free of cost and took care of my need. Would give 5 stars if range was greater but still very happy with the purchase.

This Product Was A Lifesaver!!
This product was a total lifesaver. I moved into my new place and immediately realized I got no cell signal inside. I work out of the house so that was going to hw a disaster. Bought the Hi-Boost and couldn't be happier. It is like having a miniature cell tower inside your home. The cell signal is excellent throughout the house. It was really easy to install and they have amazing customer support. They periodically check in with you to see how the product is performing. That is really unique. I would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone who is struggling getting a cell signal in their home.

It really, truly does work
I live rurally, where there is only spotty cell and data reception and I've struggled for years to get reliable internet. Fiber optic has been promised for 7 years; in the meantime the DSL rates have gone up to $80/month for 7 GB. I finally had enough and decided to try this booster. What a game-changer! I went from 2 bars to 5. While occasionally my service is affected because too many people are on the tower, mostly I have fast reliable internet and pay no monthly fees for it (I do have an unlimited data plan with my cell carrier). I'm talking 18 GB fast! It was a bit of a challenge to find the right direction to point the antenna, but I followed suggestions of other reviewers on this site as well as the instructions from the manufacturer. Best of all, I got texts for the first few days from the seller asking if I needed anything. That was unexpected! As I was able to figure it out on my own, I didn't need them, but I was impressed that they followed up. I know this doesn't work for everyone, but I"m super grateful it worked for me.

Three Year Hassle free warranty is up to interpretation
This was bought for my vacation home that had poor reception from Verizon. The local cable company wanted a extremely high labor charge to direct bury cable from the pole to the house so we added a hotspot and limited data instead, that part has worked out great. We limit the hotspot for the TV only and force the family to use their unlimited data on their phones. A cell booster is exactly what we needed for the smart TV. I landed on the sidekick from HiBoost. Original install was fairly straight forward, I knew exactly where the cell tower was and the outdoor antenna was mounted on the VHF/UHF antenna on the roof. Last year it worked great, boosted the signal just enough to give everyone's phone four bars and trouble free phone use. The smart tv hooked right up to the internet for LTE. Year one, everyone happy. Opened the place up this year and noticed the booster was dangerously hot. Could barely hold onto for more than a few seconds. The second thing we noticed that the cell service was back to "poor at best" so the booster was powered down and brought home. Now, I called customer service and left them all my personal information and what the symptoms of the booster was on a voice mail. The next day I received a text from a technician about how he could help. I told him the situation and he asked if I could send him a picture. I informed him that I could but this was not complete because the antenna was still mounted at the cabin. Over the next couple days we went back and forth about the unit and he kept telling me that it couldn't work with out the outdoor antenna. All I wanted was to send this unit out to Hiboost and have them send me a replacement because this is advertised as "Trouble Free Warranty" and this is obviously not trouble free. As I write this I am going on week two of the phase where I get Hiboost to warranty their defective product and hopes are getting slim. I now wish I would have went with the WeBoost product as all the reviews I am reading they are the superior product. This unit isn't bad but their customer service is "poor at best"

Works great!
HiBoost Sidekick Cell Booster – November 17, 2025. Cell providers in our neighborhood have no nearby towers—the closest one is about 4 miles away—so our signal strength has always been extremely poor. Our RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power, measured in dBm) consistently hovered between –110 and –118, far below the acceptable –90 range, and we frequently dropped calls. It was incredibly frustrating, and our provider had no solutions. Out of desperation, we researched boosters and chose the HiBoost Sidekick, which works with both Apple and Android phones. We use Apple. The installation kit includes an outdoor antenna, two NM-SMAM transmission cables (32 ft and 16 ft), the indoor signal booster with 120-volt power supply, an indoor whip antenna, mounting hardware, and a manual. Everything arrived well packaged and in excellent condition. After confirming all the parts, we read through the setup instructions. The manual includes a helpful diagram showing where each component goes—the outdoor antenna, the transmission cables, the indoor booster, and the power supply. That part was straightforward, but some of the actual setup steps were less clear. Depending on whether you use Apple or Android, there are different methods for checking signal strength. For Apple, you dial *3001#12345#* to access the field test mode. We verified we had a weak signal, but at least some signal. The next step was to download an app called CellMapper. That’s where things went sideways—the app couldn’t determine my location and showed no nearby towers. So I downloaded another app from the App Store called Cell Towers, and that one worked perfectly. It zoomed into my location and let me scale the map to see exactly where the towers were. Once I had that information, I knew which direction to point the unidirectional antenna. I did a temporary test setup and immediately saw an improvement, which convinced me it was worth doing the full installation. The outdoor antenna comes with U-bolt mounting hardware for a pole up to about 2.25 inches in diameter. Fortunately, I had a roof vent pipe in the perfect spot. (If you don’t have a pole already, Amazon sells mounting poles compatible with this booster.) I used the 32-foot cable, ran it underneath the eave, drilled a hole through an exterior wall, and routed it into the house to the booster unit. Once everything was connected and powered, my RSRP improved from an average of –113 to –90, giving me four full bars. I’ve only had it installed for a day, but so far I’m extremely pleased with the results. One more note: my installation location is on an outer wall, not far from the center of the house. If I’m more than about 40 feet away from the booster in another room, my coverage drops back to almost nothing. If I had mounted it in a more central location, I’d probably get better whole-house coverage. In the end, it was an aesthetics-versus-functionality trade-off. Still, when I take calls in our centrally located living room, I have no issues at all. Bottom line: So far, the HiBoost Sidekick has dramatically improved our signal and eliminated dropped calls. I’m very happy with the performance.
