Thoroughly impressed
I began searching for a replacement for an older headlight I was using; it was a $20 headlamp-turned-bike-light from Ebay. That old light worked pretty well but really it was a spotlight and I'd always have to angle it down and run it on the lowest setting to avoid casting too much glare to oncoming traffic/people, and the battery life (a 6-pack of rechargeable AA's sealed together) was only about 2hrs on the lowest brightness setting. Anyway, there was no retainer for the cable where it went into the body and the stress of that eventually broke the solder joints inside. I began searching and settled on the Raveman 1200 saw reviews saying the battery life was "a few hours". So far I have been very impressed with it. It is solidly constructed, the mounting is great (comes with a C-clamp style band to wrap around your handlebar with an additional padding piece if you have smaller bars) and I really like the readout on it that tells you the remaining time. My favorite feature I think is the low-beam (they call it the "road-biking mode") because it casts a nice wide beam with a upper cutoff similar to an automotive style headlight. This means you get just enough glare cast upward to illuminate reflective signs but not so much that you cause issues for oncoming drivers...just like a car's headlights. The high-beam (they call it "mtn-biking mode") is also incredibly bright. Compared to my old light (which had like 12 CREE LEDs in a circle and was really bright) this thing seems even brighter. I haven't actually found much use for the high-beam since I set my light pointing slightly down and that means the bulk of the light from the high-beam points into the ground 50' or so in front of me and it's almost too bright. I am still impressed that even on the brightest setting it still estimates 90 minutes of battery. I find myself using the lowest (I think 200 lumen) setting for the low-beam almost all the time. I have not tried the remote button yet that lets you change the brightness without leaving your grips, nor the USB charging feature. In my experience, running on the low setting for the low-beam it regularly estimates I'll get ~20hrs of battery life, which I think is incredible.

great light, but very heavy causing problems.
4/17/2018Edit: The light has not been able to charge since after the first time. I now have a $90 paperweight. I have contacted the company and will await their reply.Bright light with several settings to suit your needs. Displays battery life and has a port to charge something that uses a USB outlet. My only problem is the light seems to be so heavy that even though I have tightened down the mount to the handlebars to a great deal. The light seems to change droop down over the course of my ride due to the bumps in the road.

Nicely conceived features, but needs improvement
On the surface this light is well thought out. The low beam has an engineered cutoff similar to euro spec lights, the optional high beam is nice, the USB output is great, and the state of charge display is handy. But there are several items that need improvement. The mount needs to be redesigned for a more positive engagement. As constructed, the light incessantly rattles. Some cyclists will not be bothered by this. For example, I have a friend who rarely worries about oiling his chain. A little grinding noise from your gears, no problem. But for myself, commuting 25-miles daily this rattling is an irritation. Secondarily, the release direction is the opposite of what I would design. A user will naturally angle the light forward for the correct beam pattern and yet the release is also in the forward direction. Maybe not a problem, but with the loose attachment a sharp impact might cause the light to slide off.My last issue with the light is the buttons. The mode button sits flush with the surface of the case. That's fine for cyclists in warm climates but when using Winter gloves, the mode button can't be operated. And the buttons appear to use a dome switch design. My first unit failed instantly when the power switch was depressed. Not a good sign for quality. I will be transferring the PR1200 to an infrequently used bike and waiting for version 2.0.

Worked for one day. Then it didn’t. Lovely.
OK, so what can I say? I have had this light a few days. Four maybe. I did a lot of research to find a light that I thought would meet my needs. I’m like that: researching the hell out of everything before buying. But anyway, when I received it, it had no power and wouldn’t turn on. Fair enough, I thought, it needs charging. So I charged it overnight and the next morning it worked and I tested the modes. Very nice and all fine, very impressed and loving the dual beam. All is well with the world. I then left it a couple of days as I wasn’t going to be cycling. Today I went to use the light (two days after fully charging it and then only having used it for maximum ten minutes just to test it, explore the modes, etc) and BAM! Dead as a dodo again. Not a flicker. Not a single measly lumen. So this evening, in a somewhat bleak mood it has to be said, I juiced it up for a few hours - charging lights spinning round like enraptured dervishes and all that - but then when I tried to coax it into life once more... well it is just kaput. In the words of Monty Python: it has ceased to be. So I am kind of depressed, bemused, increasingly skeptical and, frankly, a bit pissed off at spending £80+ on it. Anyhoo, I have reported the light to Amazon as faulty and requested a like-for-like replacement as I still REALLY want to like this light. After all, on paper it is everything I need in a bike headlight. And fair play to Amazon, they are sending me a replacement, no quibble. If I receive a light that works - and I mean REALLY works, not just for one fleeting, blink-and-you-miss-it moment, I will assume this present experience is some kind of unfortunate anomaly and amend my review accordingly. So watch this space. (Or not, I’m not that bothered either way.) Cheers.

turns on full beam and will not shut off
I purchased a Ravemen PR1200 from Amazon UK on October 29th 2019. I have used the product on several occasions since purchase and it has been very good, until today Dec 18th.Upon activation the unit switched itself to full high beam mode, as if the remote button was depressed, but the remote was not attached. It would then not switch to any other function, or off, until the battery depleted.States that it has a 2 year warranty and a "limited lifetime warranty", yet unable to return to amazon and Ravemen are based in China.

Good if you live in a dry warm country.
Initially good. Heavy and bright with good battery life. However if USB switch used in the rain it stays in high power mode and the on off button sticks in the cold. Contacted Ravemen. They admit the problem but not willing to help at all."Our high-lumen products are made waterproof IPX 8, and we test the waterproof level by a vacuum-leak detector with strict standard, so it caused that some air inside some products was evacuated out, at the same time, the external air could not get inside the products, which made the internal and external air pressure different. So it could happen that when the temperature drops, it causes internal air contraction and resulting in more internal and external pressure difference. And then the button was a little stuck by the push of the external air pressure. "The solution is to unscrew the middle Allen screw at the rear and let the air into the product to get the button back to normal, then put the screw back. Please see attached that I point out the middle Allen screw. It' s an 1.5mm diameter screw. We suggest not using the remote button in the rain and put on the USB cap so that the high beam will not be activated by the water. Not what I thought I was purchasing.

Lots of bright light, it doesn’t blind car drivers - good for 35mph down country lanes in winter.
Nice compact unit with straight forward controls. For road use, the 300lm setting - using the ‘cut off’ lens - is very bright and adequate, the 600lm is great and still gives huge ride times. All brightness modes can be selected using the remote switch. This allows you to optimise battery duration and the light for different environments. Holding the remote in will switch on the other LED & the light will be at full power until released. The light will then resume the road (single LED) mode. The ‘both’ LEDs on feature will flood the road ahead and is good for country lanes when you expect few/zero traffic - the remote allows you to select lower brightness, but I suspect would still blind oncoming drivers. This was a problem with all my exposure lights - useless for the road. The PR1200 gives you best of both worlds, in my opinion. Single LED/duel LED can be selected while riding by pressing the larger button on the light. The button is illuminated so easy to locate while riding.I’ve read a couple of criticisms about the mount - all I’ll add is it does the job fine, fit some of the tape provided and it doesn’t move anywhere. Haven’t had it fall off either, but I do make sure it’s attached properly. For the money, and the fact it has been considered for road & off road use, I’m really pleased with it.

Brilliant light - but...
In terms of its functionality as a bike light, this is fantastic. The dipped light alone, on full power, provides sufficient illumination to navigate unlit roads in the countryside (which the CatEye Volt G50 that I had ordered from Germany did not - simply not bright enough). The emulation of a dipped headlight is also effective, as the beam does not dazzle those facing it (an important concern for me - blinding all other road users with a zillion gigalux bike light is no less annoying and dangerous than when car drivers fail to dip their headlights). The combination of dipped and full beam, on full power, is extremely powerful, and lights up way into the distance. So, a great light. But... I am concerned that after a couple of weeks and recharges, the micro-USB inpt coket is becoming unreliable - I noticed this first when the little button which attaches via a cable to it stopped functioning, and have now found that the connection was unreliable when attaching a charging cable. As this is an issue that another reviewer has noted, I am concerned that it may be a widespread problem - which would be a great pity, as this device, when functioning, is as good as I could imagine.
