Good value for the money
I recently added the Ulip Rear Suspension Upgrade Kit to my "guest/spare" scooter. My main rig has a name-brand option mounted on it, but I have to say, this suspension is an absolute great value. It's significantly cheaper than the name-brand version, yet it provides about 90% of the performance. Value for Money The cost savings with this kit are substantial. Despite the lower price, it delivers nearly the same level of improvement in ride comfort and stability as the more expensive alternatives. Installation The instructions provided are very lacking. However, with a bit of patience, some deep breaths, and probably a cup of coffee, you can get it together. The assembly process can be a bit tricky, but it's worth the effort for the improved ride quality. Build Quality While the build quality isn't the best I've seen, it is more than sturdy enough. Reusing as many of the OEM screws and bolts from the scooter itself helps ensure a secure installation. Additional Tips Be prepared to re-seal the bottom gasket of your scooter. You will likely need to open it up to extend the motor wiring harness, as the suspension pushes the motor back an inch or two. This slight extension gives you a longer wheelbase, which is a nice bonus. Re-sealing is easy if you are careful with the gasket as it comes off. If you are rough with your scooter, just grab some silicone gasket sealer, and it's easy to improve the waterproofing of your scooter. Overall Impression This rear suspension upgrade kit is a fantastic value for anyone looking to improve their Segway Ninebot Max G30 series scooter. The ride quality is significantly better, and the slight extension of the wheelbase adds to the overall experience. Despite the lacking instructions and the need for a bit of DIY spirit, this kit is a worthwhile investment. Highly recommended for those on a budget!

Weak cast aluminum
Overall, the shocks are nice, unless you ride it like I do, balls to the wall. With that being said, still the quality of the casting needs to be made to be stronger. I have broken the same shock twice now, and as you can see in the 1st pic of how both ends are sheared. After I originally broke it, I looked it over and decided to flip the swivel point where the pin holds the shock, and drill a hole into the plate it "rests" on and bolt it to it. At first I thought, this will work, well today that snapped off on me and I haven't crashed harder on my scooter than I did today, but I have taken some good spills. And this all has happened since the shock first arrived on June 27th 2023. So basically it has lasted 6 month, now at $100 a pop, it just isn't feasible to be buying this thing twice a year. I do use my scooter as my daily commute to and from work, and what other nearby errands I'll run, so I ride every day, if you're just a weekend warrior or still ride like a sissy, then it will last longer. Hopefully ulip will see this and offer some kind of compensation or replacement, especially since I bit the dust pretty good and I'm all banged up and got some good cuts and abrasions. I for now, will probably come up with some better support for this weakly designed one, made from solid stainless or a heat treated steel, as I am in aerospace and bit of an engineer of sorts and can easily make something at work, all it takes is a little thought and imagination.

Really good suspension
It fits perfectly and it’s good enough quality to hold up. If you do install this, I recommend you use the original screws from the scooter if you have them. If not, use the ones that come with the kit anyways. USE BLUE/MEDIUM/SEMI-PERMANENT THREAD LOCKER. I’ve seen a lot of reviews complaining that screws come loose after riding for a while. I’m here to tell you that I’ve been using the scooter on very rough terrain for 4 days and the screws are as tight and firm as they were when I installed them. If you don’t use thread locker, they will wiggle loose. You always wanna use thread locker on any bolts or screws that will be exposed to a lot of vibrations. Lastly, as to address the issue with the rear fender breaking after a while.. It does vibrate a lot. and the plastic is a little too brittle/stiff to handle all that shaking while only being mounted from two center screws. If you wanna be on the safe side and give that fender some extra strength, you might need to remove it, and reinforce it with something. You could either modify the mounting points and give it structural integrity that way, or you can bend a piece of steel or aluminum to the curvature of the fender and mount it that way. I plan to do this myself because I don’t wanna buy another kit just to replace the fender.

long service life?
ordered Feb '23 Installation = Headache first week + smooth ride second week = rear fender started cracking until today 10/9/23 become more and more 'wobbly" then during ride non smooth surface, i weight 135lbs, the mount that connects the shock absorber/spring to the scooter broke.. impossible to find info about spare parts or simply a contact for ulips customer service. deeply disappointed..

Installation was a total headache - no instructions provided
Oh man, I can't begin to tell you the pain I had to go through to get this thing installed without instructions. First of all, there are absolutely NO instructions in the packaging at all - no NOTHING. No QR code, no notecard with instructions to visit their website for more details, no warranty card, bupkus. But what else should I expect from what seems to be an OEM part made in China and sold on Amazon under multiple brand names? So yes, there are a couple of incredible short videos linked here on the product page that make the installation seem oh-so-easy. It's not. And the videos are HORRIBLE. One is so short it was probably made for Tik-Tok, so you have to literally step through it on pause to try and discern what to do. The other is actually from ulip, and is only slightly less horrible - it conveniently skips over tricky parts like what to do if your rear-wheel's power cable isn't long enough to reach the newly-extended rear-wheel chassis (trust me, on the G30 it ISN'T -- you have to tug and pull on that sucker, and there is literally ZERO slack left by the time you barely squeeze the wheel on to the new assembly). The ulip video also doesn't bother to make ANY effort to show you PRECISELY which part belongs in which hole, and why certain things in the box appear to have zero use on a Segway Ninebot G30 (such as square bracket plates, screws and washers, etc.) Their video also fails to warn you to DO NOT USE ULIP'S SCREWS TO MOUNT THE WHEEL ASSEMBLY BACK ON THE SCOOTER CHASSIS; they are TOO LONG and will NOT work on a G30. Just use your original screws, or you'll end up like me -- I BROKE their screw in the hole and had to drill it out, ruining the threading and wasting two hours. Super lame, ulip. My advise is if you are an experienced Scooter nerd that's taken your scooter apart many times and have VERY high confidence in replacing mission-critical stock parts with after-market parts, go for it. The new spring definitely softened up my ride and my teeth grind less now when I'm on rocky surfaces. But dear lord sweet baby Jesus the installation is a frakin' nightmare. ulip gets a total FAIL for not including instructions. Beyond idiotic. Good gear, awful installation support. Tragic. Caveat emptor, man.
