I can't express in words how satisfied I am with this laser. The Ray5 w/10W laser module greatly exceeds my expectations. The laser is very well-built, and was rather easy to assemble as long as you follow the directions step-by-step. Took me about 45 minutes to assemble it - as this was my first laser and I've never put one together before. In the short time that I have owned it I have already made fantastic engravings such as coasters, art, monograms, and other fantastic projects. I can't believe how powerful this device is...simply SUBERB! I did my internet due diligence [for two weeks] before purchasing this specific unit by Longer, and I'm glad I did. There were many other laser options out there, but the Ray5 received fantastic reviews from everybody that uses one, and most of them were using the 5W version. I decided to go with a 10W unit because I wanted to make sure that I did not outgrow the 5W unit too quickly - if that's even possible because the 5W unit received rave reviews for what it could do. Plus the fact the Longer Ray5 has a color display in the left front that makes things so much easier when using it.Yes, I had several questions after assembling the laser and starting to use it - and I must say, product support from Longer has been simply incredible. I would email a question and get a response within 24 hours - if not sooner - in every instance. The only way customer support for the Longer could be better, is if the support staff were in the same room with me when I asked a question. Customer support is important to me - but I never anticipated it would be this good. I'm glad I chose this Longer laser.So I'm sure whoever is looking to purchase a laser is going to do their own due diligence. If quality, ease-of-use, power, and importantly - customer support – is important to you, look no further. Choose a Longer Ray5 laser and you will not regret it!

have had this longer ray 5 20 watt little over a month and the laser module went out today , has been seeming weak . i got the extension kit as well the 410x850mm {16x35 inch } is greatupdate 12-16-23contacted longer have to say great customer service they sent a new motherboard , new laser module, new power supply . got laser running again and wow has awesome power . took 16 days to get parts from China to Arkansas the absolute best customer service buy one you wont regret it very good company and service department . pics are actual burns done with this laser on glass and some on canvas and wood

this was my first desktop laser that i bought and was really excited to receive it . it does work well like all the reviews say but i guess i was one of the few that received it in a defective matter. any straight lines or squares that i would engrave or cut , they all came out skewed or out of shape.i did the obvious and change the speed and power.Nothing. i took apart the machine several times thinking it may have not been square but after reading a lot of reviews on other laser sites ,it seems that maybe one of the mirrors inside the actual laser may have shifted. i make a lot of acrylic signage using a c02 laser and if the mirrors do shift,they are a little more accessible to work on if this tends to happen. Since this laser is far different than the c02 laser i just didnt want to try and see if that was the issue plus it being brand new.other than that it seemed to perform very well

Very nicely put together machine, good instructions and easy assembly (1-2 hrs). You'll want a honeycomb table for sure, as well as Lightburn software. After a week I bought air assist and an extractor cover from the Longer website; these improved the cuts and reduced the wood burning scent. I can cut 1/8 in basswood ply at 8-9mm/sec single pass. No problem going through quarter inch marine ply with two passes. I may go to CO2 eventually but this gets the job done with no fuss and 1/3 the price.

This engraver works as advertised. As a beginner in engraving, I find myself diving deep into the art form. It's a really good hobby and a means to additional income. My only downside is the assembly took some work, between youtube and the manual it was assembled in 35 minutes. Apart from that I didn't get the washers andsome screws as per the package it came in. Nevertheless, that was an easy workaround and I'm happy with this purchase.

Longer Ray5 is easy to use and works great for my needs. Had a small issue with the Y axis cable and contacted Longer support and they helped me diagnose the issue and will be replacing the cable pack for me under warranty.

After about 5 uses, this has stopped working.

When my son plugged it in it didn’t work correctly and then he realized he had to turn the laser on. When it turned on it burned a hole in the table which will be a subject of conversation for a long time. However, it works great!
