Meike MK-RF-AF1 13mm + 18mm Metal AF Full Frame Macro Extension Tube Adapter Ring Kit For Canon EOS-R Series Cameras Canon RF Mount Cameras EOS-R EOS-RP

I had waited in the hope that Canon would make their own RF extension tubes but I needed a small one for a specific task to use with an RF 85mm f2 Macro lens and so I decided that this pair of Meike ones would be fine. I am reasonably impressed with the build quality and the electronics all seem to work fine. There's no glass so as long as they are straight and can communicate between lenses and bodies (R5 MkII in my case) then they are perfect for the job. I have only used them for one job and, apart from doing some testing beforehand, haven't really given them a full workout but everything so far points to a very good buy. If Canon ever make their own I might be tempted but if these Meike ones prove to be durable then I don't see any reason to do so in any hurry.

These extension tubes work well, feel well made and solid. With my R6 Mk III (a full frame sensor) the auto-focus works well. With both tubes attached I am getting a true macro enlargement (1:1) with my Canon 24-105 set to 50mm. I photographed a ruler and the frame was filled from 0 - 35mm. Set to 105mm the enlargement is not quite so great (the ruler width was 40mm in the viewfinder) but it is easier to get light to the subject without casting a shadow. All in all I am very happy with these, especially at the price.

These extension tubes are as stated in the description. I was surprised that they have weather seals. They lock onto the camera and lens flanges with very little movement. The only thing that is disappointing is that they don't rotate as smoothly as lenses or the EF-RF converter when attaching to the camera or each other. They feel like the flanges are scraping. Maybe they'll bed in with use. They won't get a lot of use because I have a Canon RF 100mm macro lens. I bought these extension tubes because unlike some EF zoom lenses available with a "macro" ability, there aren't RF "macro" zoom lenses available. So when out and about I tend to take my EOS 90D with a zoom lens that has macro so I can get close to flowers and insects. Using the R6 with the 24-240mm lens or other zoom lenses I can similarly get closer with these extension tubes which are lighter and less bulky to carry around than the 100mm macro lens.

I'm using it in my Canon R6 with 28-70 and 70-200. It works well. It loose sharpness in the corners but the pictures are very decent. And you can use it only for macro photography. And I'm very happy with this because I never had a macro lens before so this open to me a new world of images.

Combined it with my RF100-400 and my 2x converter to get some pretty good closeup shots (red common darter photo). Also tried it with 200-800 and 2x and it was pretty good (green southern hawker), but needed more extension to focus close enough. A set of 3 tubes with a 24mm or so tube would have been better.

Does exactly what it's supposed to. full autofocus compatibility. end caps are a little loose, but that's not an issue. No image quality loss because therre's no glasss, they're just spacers.

Using them with a Canon R100 + 26-105 Canon RF zoom lens. They really look very well made, with a "red ring" on each - most impressive. The 12 pins make a "noisy' entry when being attached, compared a Canon lens. Repeatedly connected them to each other to try to improve things. However, everything works as intended - focussing and metering. The autofocus works best when the lens is fully zoomed out to 105mm - less so and it struggles. With both tubes in place image size doubles; obviously less so singly. I think a brightly lit subject may be the order of the day. No serious photos to review, yet.

These don’t work as advertised. There is no autofocus pass through on an eos R8. Don't waste your time on this.

Diese neue Serie mit dem roten Rand passt auf alle Fälle besser und wackelfrei, als die erste Serie in ganz schwarz. Jetzt kann ich auch beide Ringe zusammen verwenden - alle Signale werden zuverlässig übermittelt. Das war mit meinem alten Set nicht der Fall. Vielleicht war da das RF Bajonett noch zu neu und Meike konnte es nicht besser produzieren. Da ich meinen Lieblingsring verloren habe, gab es dieses neue Set. Das war eine gute Entscheidung. Die Naheinstellgrenze ist mit beiden Ringen zusammen sehr kurz - direkt dran. Ausprobieren. Aber das muss und sollte man in der Fotografie ja sowieso. Freihand empfehle ich die Serienbildeinstellung oder ein Stativ mit Makroschiene zu verwenden. Diese Ringe sind eine preiswerte Alternative zu einem teuren Makroobjektiv.

Fits the camera and lens perfectly, with nothing loose or too tight. There tubes, so quality is fine and they are chromed which is very important. Auto focus works, and am satisfied with them on the RF100mm Macro lens.
