It’s a shorter book, which made it incredibly easy to fly through. I was hooked from the very first chapter and found myself constantly saying, “Just one more chapter.” As the story unfolded, I kept asking myself question after question, trying to piece everything together. The plot is filled with several smaller twists and turns that kept me engaged from beginning to end. Every time I thought I had things figured out, the story took another unexpected turn. Best of all, I never guessed the ending, which is always a huge plus for me in a thriller. One thing I really enjoyed was the main female character. She wasn’t someone I completely loved or completely disliked. There were moments where I was rooting for her and others where I questioned her decisions. That complexity made her feel more realistic and added another layer to the story. If you’re looking for a quick psychological thriller that grabs your attention early, keeps you guessing, and delivers an ending you won’t see coming, I’d definitely recommend The Wife Before.

Great book but printing error caused delay
Several pages did not have printed words. Half way through the book, two pages couldn’t be read. It is a good book but the printing error was very unfortunate. I could not move beyond the book until a replacement arrived.

Them People Dumb
Samira Wilder won’t let a job stress her out, but can apparently a man in six months if he’s rich enough. Roland Graham’s first marriage went terribly, and is trying to be better in his second, but he’s still WAY too trusting. Somehow they find themselves solving a murder mystery. These people are dumb. Don’t get me wrong, they both learn to do better, but they are both willfully obtuse. Didn’t stop me from enjoying the book though. If you like quick romances, murder mysteries, and a good twist, then this is for you.

Phenomenal read
This was an excellent read. I thought it started a little slow but once it got into the meat of things I couldn't stop reading. Every time I thought I solved the murder another plot twist had me back to the drawing board. I this would make a great movies or a short series. Excellent job

Good read with my husband!
My husband and I read this together. We enjoyed reading it and talking about it together. There are parts that I found unrealistic and there was a lot of over-explaining that had to be done at the end to make everything make sense. Other than that, it was a good read.

Guilty until proven otherwise
Gosh this book keeps you on the edge of your seat right up until the last sentence. Shanora really knows how to write an incredibly absorbing thriller, with some extremely dark hidden secrets. The characters are so believable, and the heroine so determined. Samaria a young lady finding it difficult to focus on the necessities of life is forced to stand on her own to feet and not rely on hand outs from her brother Kellan and her friend Sheila. Jell is soon to be a Dad, and his fiancée does not get on with his sister particularly well, and Sheila, wants space when her boyfriend moves into her flat. A chance encounter whilst Mira is waitressing has her meeting Roland a professional golfer with a sinister past. A widower, who although walking around freely fell deeply under suspicion when his first wife committed suicide, whilst under the influence of heroine. He was never proved guilty but everyone had opinion that reflected on his career. The two start a whirl wind romance and finish up married and moving into Roland’s home. The one he built with his first wife. Journals that Mira finds written by her hand, the first wife, cast shadows of doubt, and so the incredible journey of deceit, encounters and plots unfold. It is so well written that when the end does arrive the reader is most definitely wanting more. Cruel characters weave in and out. Those you thought you knew you didn’t, and those you thought were fair left you realising that perhaps you only saw what they wanted. The heroines sheer determination, continues throughout the book, and is basically the total backbone of this exciting novel. One not to miss. One to digest and ponder. Some topics are difficult to absorb, and some are quite macabre, but all essential for a phenomenal story. Well worth more than 5 stars. This ladies work always is. Totally excellent.

disappointing
Can’t imagine how this book is rated as high as it is. Terribly unlikeable characters, a predictable plot and childish writing. Forced myself to finish reading hoping to find some redeeming quality but unfortunately it just got worse.
