Got this for Christmas along with a gorgeous maple john boos cutting board! I have several globals, this one might become my favorite quickly, diced potatoes just to see if it's equalled my veg. Knife, the blade glides through like butter. I could slice and chop all day with this one, have to get a whole chicken to butcher and see how it does! All in all, I am thrilled with all my globals and this one in particular!

This 7-inch 17.78-cm blade is useful but it's not a deba
The knife has a single right-handed bevel and a slightly concave surface on the back side. Its big blade is useful for light-weight cutting but its spine is not heavy enough to hack through the pine of most fish, which is what a deba is intended to do. The large blade is nicely balanced, but is awkward for filleting small fish or cutting up a chicken or game hen.

New Fav Knife!
I've always wanted a Global and a Shun. I found the Shun at a lower price than anywhere (not here sorry amazon) so I went with it first. Its a great knife and have used it a lot! Bought this Global and it is my newest favorite knife!!Forged is the best! I'll be back for another Global soon!

Sharp, but uncomfartable
The knife is fairly sharp and feels nice in terms of quality, but it has pretty uncomfortable handle. It's just weird and I can't even decide if it's too large or too small. Perhaps too narrow and too tall?

Happy Husband
My husband had talked about wanting a deba knife. I found this one on Amazon. He loved this anniversary present! He couldn't wait to use it! It was a great price and works very well!

Great Knife
This is a great knife for the price point. A solid one piece knife made with durable steel. It can be the workhorse knife for the professional in the kitchen and will stand the test of time. The blade looks great without drawing too much attention. This is single bevel knife, so using this knife with soft materials is a must. Any damage to the knife can probably be removed by a skilled hand in sharpening or a professional knife sharpener without any emotional damage to you because of the price. Would recommend.
