Gave this kit to my 5 year old grand son for his birthday. We finished it, and assembled it as a project together. Our deal is if he takes care of it and does not brake it he will receive my Barlow pocket knife that has been handed down 5 time from Grand fathers to Grand sons so he can hopefully hand it down to his grand son.

I picked this up to help my 7 y/o son learn about knife safety. It was a lot of fun to assemble (and even taught me a thing or two about how locking blades work). On the advice of another reviewer, we sharpened it on a sanding block and practiced whittling a bar of soap! Really well made and a lot of fun!

fun for kids i used it as a gift i recommend it for boys if you wont the kids really be more Enthusiastic about it i recommend if you carve there names on it its really fun but not for long !

This knife was such a blessing for my seven year old. He isn’t quite ready to have his own pocket knife like daddy or big brothers, but being able to build his own knife with his Papa was priceless! I’ll forever gift these knives for this age group! Great quality, adorable tin, easy build!

I bought these as gifts for two little outside loving boys as a birthday gift. It was a huge hit. They are safe to allow a 4 and 6 year old to carry in their pockets without hurting anyone. They can cut but there is no sharp edge. You would have to be pretty determined to cut something. :) These do require some assembly from a parent. Great item and arrived quickly!

Gifted this to a little guy, but it was missing a part so he was disappointed. good concept, kinda aggravating. would cost more to drive and send it back at the local UPS store so in the trash it went.
