I got one for my wife, she loves it. And anybody that comes over to our house loves it as well. It’s pretty fun to see something actually levitate and spin and light up. Highly recommend as a gift idea.

Very fun floating glowing moon. It spins on its axis. All my visitors stop to look and many are captivated by this floating moon.

This is so cool . . . And yes, it does take patience in getting it set up! But one reviewer's comments got me thru it - he/she said to imagine you are holding it like you would water with both hands (don't cover up the bottom magnetic piece) and move it around the base until you feel it 'grab hold', so to speak. One model shows a side button to operate the light but my model's light button is on the top and easy to miss. I have placed my moon lamp in my home office - soothing.

UPDATE: Well....after I left this very bad review for this moon, I left it plugged in and within a couple of days I discovered I began to like it! And, as more time has gone by I actually NOW really love the little lamp. Its very calming to look at, it just slows things down and helps me clear my mind! I have mine plugged in all evening when im home. I light a few candles and just destress. I take it all back! This lamp is Awesome!!! :) ------ I thought I was going to have hours of trippy fun with this lamp, honestly it's NOT all that! Not even a little bit. In person the moon is very blurry with a LOT of imperfections. Just not enough detail in the moon itself. I have had it plugged in for half an hour now and I'm already watching TV, posting a bad review and about to unplug it! It's just NOT as cool as these reviews are making it seem. Not a conversation piece. Very forgettable. Plus, 80 bucks is just too high of a price! I would possibly keep it if it were cheaper...30 bucks max, BUT at 80 bucks, it goes back. The globe has very poor detail and quite frankly...its boring. And for these reasons, it will be returned.

This is a super cool gift. Ain't gonna lie, we had a wicked hard time getting it to hover. We were almost ready to send it back, when we gave it one last shot. And we got it levitating. Took ALOT of patience!

This is definitely a want and not a need. But it is a have to have. It is super cool floating and spinning. Then when you turn on the light it goes back and forth between cool white and a warm glow. Definitely worth it. Note, it takes a little practice to balance it, but you can do it!

disregard the comments saying its impossible to make it float, with patience and strategy you can have a cool moon in your room. looks cool and serves as good nightlight. its bright enough to notice even in an already lit room, but not so bright to where you need to turn it off to sleep. only downfall if you were to have a power outage the moon falls to the platform and you have to re-float it. make sure to have it plugged in when setting it up.

Product came with no instructions, but fairly intuitive to use. Once powered on, use your hands to cradle the moon. This will take some finagling since moon base will be drawn to magnets. From stop, moon likes to spin to the right (6 seconds / rotation). But can spin or be made to spin to left (12 sec / rot). Light has 3 cycled modes. If 1 mode is preferred, just cycle power switch 5 times on turning off. Fairly bright. Too bright to serve as a night light. Left on during day and has enough light to go to bed to. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: Added video of floating of moon. The first time you float the moon, you should do it at a kitchen table, where you can sit and rest elbows on the table. You have to position the moon at the right height in the center and wait for the magnetic field of the base to align with the magnetic field of the moon and use lower fingers to keep base stationary. At 6 seconds / rotation, this is 10 seconds minimum. Miss it and you have another 10 seconds. So be patient. It can be a bit of a fight as the moon will be attracted to the four magnets at the corners of the base. You can see that at the start of the video. In the video, I float the moon fairly easily. 18 months ownership, with 6 power outages and 6 hitting or moving bed to rough. I've had practise. I have given up after not being able to float moon, but I am usually successful in 20-25s. So be patient.

I know for new buyers it could be very hard to set, but trust me, once you know how it works you'll do it in seconds like me. To do this: 1- Plug in the adapter and turn the switch on (that's it) 2- hold the moon like you are holding water with your bare hands (hands below the moon). 3- Make sure the magnet in the center between your hands (which is bottom and it's darker than the rest of the moon). 4- make space between your hands so the magnet are not covered by your hands. 5- get the moon above the center of the base around 5cm (make sure the base is turned on) . 6- once you feel the moon is supporting it self on the base then slowly remove your hands and that's it! 7- CONGRATULATION! you have a beautiful floating moon! I hope this will work with you.

Absolutely love this. Yes it's costly but it's worth the cost, you can just tell. 3 different coloured hues. It's a bit tricky to get it on the magnet the first time, but afterwards you can just feel the gravity with the magnet. Definitely worth a few tries and the outcome is amazing. So glad I got this.
