Not a low temp rod
The rods have a melting point just below the melting point of aluminum which makes this useless. I had to heat the base metal to 1,000°F before this rod would start to flow. Then there is a ugly gray film left (probably the flux) that is very difficult to get off. I used a heavy SS wire brush to get it mostly off. The finish is absolutely horrible. This product is NOT what is claimed by any means

VERY THIN, MUCH SMALLER DIAMETER THAN THAN THE NAME BRAND
Seems to work well, and for small detailed work the small diameter might be a benfit. I needed to fill a large gap though so the rods had very little coverage because they were so small.

a little tricky at first but practice makes well better ha!
easy as far as heat and getting started just got to back off some after a short while used it to fix crack on boat trailer before it broke completely
