This works great. I am using it with an x1 riser for a GTX 1060 video card on a mining rig and it's working great.. It is really nice that they included the screwdriver and the screw. I bought an M2 drive for much more money and that didn't include either.

Doesn’t work for GPU mining
Does not work for GPU mining, I get about 8 Mhs using this M.2 adapter with a riser, while I get 32 Mhs using the same riser in a normal PCIe slot. I’ve seen another user online doing this successfully with my mobo (MSI 270-A Pro) so I have to assume that this adapter is bad, or just that it just can’t be used for a GPU.I wish someone could post something definitive about which of these kinds of adapters actually works because everything I’ve found says they’re all bogus. Doesn’t seem like the technology was meant to be used this way. So my 7 GPU rig looks doomed to be 6 (sigh).On that note- who wants to buy an unused 1080 Ti!?

Worked well for the most part
These cards worked well but you really need to be careful to make sure they arent touching other components on the motherboard specifically under the M2 card. I had to use some electrical tape underneath one of the cards to prevent a short. Not really the M2 cards fault to be honest it was more the motherboard design.

Works just as they should. I see no reason to power these directly if you are using a powered riser.

Risk of fire or electrical damage!
Buyer beware! The cards are functional, however connecting the power cable adapter that comes with the unit is garbage and fire hazard! The connecting pins are lose and caused a total meltdown and started smoking. Lucky I was on hand to power off of the unit.I thought my entire motherboard was damaged but it and the M.2 card was still functional. I used a higher quality adapter that came with my power supply.My advice if you are planning a mining rig chose a motherboard that has enough slots to target your GPU count and avoid using these risky M.2 adapters. I was already concerned from other reviews and I too was impacted.
