What is the coating? is it some sort of teflon derivative (pfoa, pfoe, etc)?

Our cookware is not made with Teflon brand nonstick and is made with a traditional nonstick coating manufactured without PFOA. I have looking at Circulon cookware. Can you tell me are they heavy like cast iron?

its heavy but not like cast iron, sturdy would better describe it. I've gotten rid of other brands because of the ergonomic issues they have. These have well designed handles and balance easily when full. I bought the highly acclaimed All Clad and gave it away because of the awful feeling handle on the saucepans. That said the new design of the hybrid stainless steel isn't as useable in my opinion due to the weird inside coating and ridges. It was a CHALLENGE to clean unlike to more standard Circulon stainless. Hope this helps
